First sono tomorrow, nerves are starting to set in!! - 12/5 AM Update

After trying for over a year with a miscarriage in between we are just praying for a good appointment and smooth 9 months ahead! I've been monitored by the RE's office and my numbers were high and doubled but haven't been checked again since last week. Asking for some prayers and good thoughts if you can spare some, thank you!!!

UPDATE: There was no sac :(. She said we could just be a day or two early and we'll have to see what my numbers come back as. Based on my LMP I should be through my fifth week by tomorrow, so 5 weeks as of Saturday I guess? Do you think it's just too early and there's still hope?? She said they'll have me come back on Monday for another sono as long as my numbers are still going up. My husband will be away at a work training then :(. I had a feeling this appointment was going to be more confusing than reassuring. We felt so hopeful this time. I passed the day my last miscarriage started. I've been feeling so good just some sore boobs and fatigue but nothing crazy. Any extra prayers you could pass our way would be greatly appreciated. And any similar experiences good or bad please share. She also saw two cysts on my left ovary not sure what that may mean. Sigh.

Update #2: Beta is at 2890. The doctor said we should have been able to see something with it being that high. She wants me to come back in again tomorrow morning for more bloodwork and another sono and see what they can find. They want to try to rule out ectopic. I haven't been in any pain...this is weird right? Beta being 2890 is exactly where I think it should be with it doubling since Thursday when it was 351. I vaguely remember during the IUIs that they would say my uterus or my cervis was retroverted, not sure if I'm even making sense. I'm hoping there's a good reason why they didn't see anything today and we get better news tomorrow :(.

Update #3: We saw the sac right away this morning, thank goodness. No yolk sac yet but she said that was fine. She didn't mention how far along I looked or an estimated due date but just that they would see me in a week. They took bloodwork this morning too. Not sure what my numbers should increase by since it's only been 24 hours. Going to try not to look too into that. I think they were also checking other things to try to rule out that it is ectopic. The doctor said seeing the sac unfortunately doesn't mean for sure that it isn't ectopic but she said she's 99% sure everything is fine. It was a different doctor than yesterday so we'll see! Praying that this is our baby!

I never had a sono before 5 weeks, that's very early to see anything. First sono is usually middle of your 5th week to avoid scaring you like this. If you're not yet 5 weeks, I wouldn't expect to see anything so I wouldn't worry as long as your beta is doubling nicely. Next week you should see a sac and middle of your 6th week you should see a hb.

Thank you for your input. I was monitored pretty closely since it was an IUI. It seems I ovulated on CD10 which then I think would put me at 5 weeks and a couple of days, I think. This waiting game stinks :(. I left work to work from home because I'm so upset. I was surprised they would do an ultrasound so early too. They seemed to expect to see the sac today but the doctor also didn't seem that worried. She did say I had about a 25-30% chance of miscarrying and that once we see a sac it would go down to 20% and then further from there once we have a heartbeat. I hope so badly that we get to that point with this pregnancy :(.

I went in at 5 weeks as well and there was no sack. At week 8, everything looked normal. It's way too early... give it a few more weeks and try not to stress. Sending some positive vibes along your way!

5 weeks seems super early to me. Was it bc of your history they wanted you to come then? I didn't have my first appt until I was close to 7 weeks. Hang in there. I think there's still hope!

Super early for a sono. IF the numbers are good then I would not worry yet. My RE wouldn't even give me a sono before 6 weeks because that early every day is HUGE change.

I never asked why they were giving me a sono so soon but figured they knew what they were doing. It may be because of my prior miscarriage but I'm not sure. I'm praying my beta comes back high .

The thing is at 14DPO my beta was 170. 48 hours later it doubled to 351 and they said everything looked great, my progesterone was high, etc. I figured by now my numbers would definitely be high enough where we would see something. Is it true they taper off a bit once reaching the thousands?

with my first pregnancy I had an early I thought I was later than I was and I was about 5w3d and we couldn't see anything I had to come back the following week to get a pregnancy confirmation. I hope it all turns well for you

I did IVF and there was a sac at 5w3d. If you're not 5 weeks until this coming Saturday it's too early for a sonogram. They can't see a sac until 5 weeks.

Also once your beta is over 1000 they request a sonogram. What and when was your last beta?
