Re: first time mommies....

only 13 weeks and I'm terrified. I panic about every aspect of being a first time mommy. Especially since we weren't TTC, its all been a big surprise since.

Re: first time mommies....

It hit me last night. I started to freak out, but I'm scared for the labor part. Not really for her being around. DH and I are so ready to move fwd in our relationship and I'm so excited for her arrive, just soooo scared for labor. I dont like not knowing what to expect and having no controlChat Icon

Me too - I have 14 weeks left and I am super excited. When I start thinking about the birth part I get a little nervous but hey - there's nothing that can be done about that. Whatever is going to happen is going to happen I just hope I can do my best for my baby.

Yes, the thought of actually raising a little person is definitely a daunting one. From my girlfriends who have recently had their first babies they tell me that it's amazing how much comes naturally once the baby arrives, and I find that comforting. I also take solace in the fact that I have my wonderful family and friends there for support and advice. And of course this wonderful LIF board! We're not alone!

Re: first time mommies....

Oh yes. I am so excited but terrified at the same time. With only five weeks left a million thoughts are running through my head. I started crying when the furniture was being delivered to the nursery the other day! I'm a mess.

Re: first time mommies....

I'm not really scared about being a mom but I am nervous for knowing I have the responsibility of another human that will depend on me solely during the day while DH is at work. But at the same time, I am so excited to have this little guy in our house & hear his cries!

Re: first time mommies....

I'm due in about 3 more wks! And I'm definitely terrified, I want to meet our baby so badly, but I'm worried about the labor, not really about the pain but just not knowing what it's really going to feel like, or having any real control over the situation.

As for actually caring for the baby, I've been having nightmares where I let the baby fall off the bed, when I'm changing, etcChat Icon

But I'm trying to keep my mind off of all those things but keeping busy and "nesting"Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: first time mommies....

We assembled Chat Icon crib this weekend, and now that it's a permanent fixture in our home I feel this little sense of panic and excitement every time I look at it. In 5 weeks (give or take) we'll be parents...wow! I'm nervous about giving birth...the hospital tour scared me. I'm anxious about caring for a newborn--I've never even changed a diaper. I'm so excited to be a mommy, and I know DH and I will make a great team as parents.

the birth doesnt scare me as much as im anxious about it.
