First time working out in over three months
So when my DH and I went to the dr he said no exercise that will escalate your heart rate over 140bpm. Prior to starting ivf I worked out constantly. Trained with weights(used to compete in Olympic weightlifting) cardio and it was part of my routine. Now 10w pregnant I haven't worked out until today and I just walked to try an get back into the grove of things. Anyone else's doc putting restrictions on how hard they can workout? I'm kinda bummed as this is the first time I even want to workout and have enough energy since getting my BFP! Tia

Re: First time working out in over three months
I have a whole work out plan one of my doctors gave me. From cardio, to crunches to weights. Obviously I don't run like training for a marathon, but I do cardio to the point that I can talk while running/using the elliptical.

That's awesome. I don't think my dr would give me a plan. My DH is a personal trainer and he said he would train me but I am just getting frustrated. I want to train hard but I know this baby is WAY more important

Re: First time working out in over three months
the only thing my dr said was not to start any kind of exercise I've never done before. I teach dance and she told me I could do it up until the end.

Re: First time working out in over three months
My doc said I could still run so after my BFP I continued to run 3 miles until I got to 7 weeks... since then I've been running 1 1/2 miles 3 times a week and lifting weights (nothing crazy).... Im def not going as hard as I used to.

You definitely can't train hard, but you can keep up exercise. It isn't just for the baby, it is for you too. My doc is fine with doing weights, as long as I am not weight training, KWIM? I still do crunches but not with weights, and only on a 30 degree angle. I still practice yoga, I just make sure I listen to my body and don't do poses that are uncomfortable or are flat on my back. Everything is just modified.
where I live they are very big on exercise while pregnant. Even if you didn't before being pregnant they want you to start.

Re: First time working out in over three months
Yes. My doc said the same thing abotu heart rate. I am a fitness/figure competitor so it has been very difficult for me to adjust my workouts. I use the elliptical/treadmill and do intervals for cardio and still do weight training (lighter of course) that doesn't involve me laying on my back
