flea & tick medicine question

I put the frontline on my dog and like 30 mins later I caught her rolling around on my bed (playing).. some of it came off on the sheets. Will that decrease the effectiveness since some rubbed off of her? Her hair is still wet but it left like 5 imprints worth on the sheets.

Thanks!

Re: flea & tick medicine question

Do you apply it monthly? Did you apply it last month?

That's my first question...

Ok. Good.

I just had this issue this month. Much of it rubbed off on the sheet, and some even got on my hand. So I was worried it would not work.

I called Frontline, they told me NOT NO WAY, DO NOT reapply it. Ok then.

So it turns out, Frontline kills fleas for up to 3 months from ONE application. Ticks only monthly so that's why the monthly application (also depends on your area, risk wise).

So based on that, dogs are covered from last month's application, plus whatever did absorb from this one.

Just reapply next month, all should be ok. As for ticks, your pet may be a bit vulnerable if alot didn't absorb.

Are you more worried about fleas or ticks? For me it's fleas. My dog got them 2 times just in my neighborhood.

Thanks so much for that info!! Chat Icon

Worried about both really, we are outdoors a lot. That's good that the flea protection carries over for up to 3 months. I'll just be sure to check her for ticks more carefully this month.

thanks again!

Glad I could help. We can't be the only ones whose pets roll around after application.

I would just check more often if I were you and maybe try to limit tick infested areas for the month if it makes you feel better. At least fleas, which multiply so fast, are covered. I was surprised to hear about the 3 mths protection. Actually you can view this on Frontline's website...there is a video with a "dr" talking and it says 3 mths for fleas. Chat Icon
