Flexible Spending and Dependent Care

Just curious, for those who are participating, how much are you putting in the flexible spending accounts for your pregnancy? And are you putting in money for the dependent care yet?

Also, can the money for either accounts be carried over?

not pregnant but have a 10 month old. I have a dependent care where I can put a max of $5k which I am doing for daycare. However, it can't be carried over from year to year. Use it or lose it.

I put 5K into dependent care. Nothing into flex spending.

i will put the max amount in dependent care when the time comes. i think $5000?

Once DS was born, we put in the maximum, $5K, into dependent care to use for his daycare. His daycare doesn't start until October this year though.

As for flex spending, we have to wait until HR gives the go ahead. We missed signing up for flex spending this year and have to sit it out until the next round.

I have flex spending but didn't think/know I'd be preggers. So all I put aside was my deductible $1500 which I blew threw my first month of the year. Now I pay 20% all bills that my insurance doesn't. Wouldnt have been bad since I rarely get sick or see a doc.. UNLESS I'm preggers!!!

I know the max is $5k for the dependent care and I intend on putting Nothing this year. I am looking into details.

I am home for the last quarter and won't be putting the child in care until Jan and by then its a new benefit year. Then I'll put aside $5K.

For this year??? I dunno if I can count staying home as dependent care.


ETA: I was told my HR that I can NOT contribute to dependent care until 30days after birth anyway. *shrug*
