Flights to Orlando?
We are going the last week of October and the flights aren't listed for JetBlue or Southwest which I hear are the cheaper airlines. Delta has flights out for about $168 round, is that a big difference in price from the other airlines? thanx!

Re: Flights to Orlando?
Not sure about the price because 1- we never even look at another airline except SW because flying out of Islip with kids is so worth it for us and 2- this time around we booked through southwest vacations.com so we got a pkg deal.
But depending on where you live, what time you want to leave etc, I would consider Islip just because its so easy. Every time we have have even flown out of there its never been crazy, its small and compact so its easy to get to baggage claim, or get a quick bite, and for us its like 15 minutes from our house which is great!

Re: Flights to Orlando?
$168 round trip is a GREAT price! I buy tickets to and from Florida frequently and haven't seen fares that low in a while. If the dates are firm, I wouldn't be able to pass them up. Even if JetBlue is lower, it can't be by the much (that would be my reasoning).
eta...I never booked a flight with SW so I don't know how low their fares can be.

Re: Flights to Orlando?
Well not sure about the current prices but when we looked it appeared that delta was the cheapest - followed by Jet blue, and then southwest.
BUT when you sat down and really compared them - Jet blue was the cheapest, closely followed by Southwest and then lastly by delta - for US. From looking it can be a toss up sometimes SW is cheaper than JB etc.
What you have to take into account is how much luggage do you realistically think you will bring. If you say 1 bag pp and then bring 2 you could wind up paying a lot more.
Delta on computer looks cheaper but remember you pay per bag - with no free luggage. So that cost adds up very quickly. Unless things changed recently jet blue gives you 1 piece pp and SW gives 2. When we traveled even we brought 8 bags total (2 bags pp) so we would have to pay for 1 extra bag pp with JB they were still $20 cheaper than SW. However, if you just bring carry ons and don't check then Delta would be the cheapest for you.
Just make sure you work in the extra fees when you compare prices.
Etd to add we paid just $780-800 for 4 tickets for travel May 2010 including bags. So the price delta is charging is about $10 cheaper than it was when we traveled.

Re: Flights to Orlando?
I saw American Airlines was doing $74 each way too. I am thinking of heading down to visit family. I might just take a few days in March.
