Flip Flop adjustment period?

Does anyone find that the first time they wear flip flops for the season, even a pair you wore last year, it bothers the area between your toes where they hit for a few wearings?

I kind of remember this happening to me in the past, and i feel like there was even a thread on here about it, but yesterday I was wearing heels so I commuted in to the city and ran around in a bit flip flops instead of my usual commuting boots for the first time since the fall and I feel like the area between my toes is all irritated and sore now. As I was walking in them I was noticing how uncomfortable it was.

Now these are flip flops that I wore all last summer and even walked for miles in them on vacations with no issue.

So does that area just somehow toughen up over time , kind of like a callus situation?

I just find it so strange.

Does anyone else notice this when they first start wearing flip flops for the season?

Yup! It happens with certain flip flops I own, too. Usually by the second time it's fine.

LOL it's like that little area has to toughen up or something. And then over the winter it goes all soft again! Chat Icon

I get really bad blisters/cuts there every year, almost the minute I put flip flops on for the first time each season. I dread it and try to remember to wear flip flops around the house for a few minutes every day leading up to real flip flop weather - so thank you for the reminder! Time to start "breaking in" my feet for flip flop weather

It's funny because it's not like you have to "break in" the flip flops. The flip flops I have had for years and they have plenty of miles on them! No, you have to break in your feet!
