Re: Flood Insurance....

I think it was 5% more than the other coverage, but make sure you read the fine print. Our flood insurance did not cover seepage, and when we got flooded (2 feet of water into our basement last October) we were not covered since it was not a result of "a body of water rising and engulfing the home." Re: Flood Insurance....

Our flood insurance is a seperate policy from our homeowners.

Our flood runs us $350 a year, but we know it will go up next year, since FEMA raised the limits.

Re: Flood Insurance....

I write Flood ins for my company,. and how it works if your in a flood zone and required to take max coverage of 250k, the premium can be costly.

Not in a flood zone, lower premiums, preferred rates.

Only time you can get a better rate in a flood zone is when an elevation certificate is shown and gives info on a house that is elevated.

And yes FEMA raised their rates this past May.
