Flood Zones??
How do you know if a home is in a "flood zone"? I know that they just changed rules/regulations. Is anything South of Merrick? My friend just bought in Seaford just south of Merrick and now she found out she is in a flood zone and needs extra insurance. Is there a website with the info?

your best bet is to contact a home insurance company and give them the address of the house and they should have the most up to date maps for the flood zones.

Did her house get appraised? If so, it would state it in the report.
Check out the FEMA website also:

Re: Flood Zones??
I know it got appraised..I believe thats when she found out about this flood issue.
I was wondering if I like a house can I found out PRIOR to bidding if it is in the zone.
