Re: Flowers for funeral
Next dumb question..
if you send flowers to the funeral home..do people take flowers home after? Do they get donated?
Am I over thinking this?

They usually take some of them to the church & then they are left there ( same after a wedding)--usually just one or two larger pieces that the family buys are taken to the cemetery.
When was in HS, I know we got leftover flowers from a funeral home for an event, but I don't know what usually happens to the flowers if the family doesn't take them.
You can also send something to the family's home.

Re: Flowers for funeral
I would send a nice plant to the funeral home. That way it can be displayed, but they can also take it home.

Re: Flowers for funeral
depends on the type of flowers.
are you thinking an arrangement or bouquet? arrangement - to the funeral home. The funeral home will move them to the grave site.
smaller arrangement or bouquet - home. (if you send something to the home, send a living plant. SO much more cheerful as flowers just die)

Re: Flowers for funeral
That depends on what you are getting.
Full displays and arrangements, I would send to the funeral home. Small plants and bouquets, I would send to the house.
All arrangements at the funeral home are usually transported to the grave site unless otherwise told by the family. The flowers are oftentimes broken up so that those attending the burial can have a flower to throw on to the casket before it is lowered. The rest of the flowers that are not broken up are laid there on the burial site.
