Flying Alitalia question....
We will be flying New York to Rome on Alitalia in July. I read that they screens for all seats. Is that on all their planes? Do they have any kid channels? We will bring a DVD player for my daughter anyway. I know Jet Blue has cartoon network. Just wondering what Alitalia had.

Re: Flying Alitalia question....
I love flying Alitalia but to be honest I don't recall.
not sure if you've ever flown there before (or across the atlantic) but my advice would be to do all you can to have your little girl sleep.
I imagine (though I could be wrong) that you will be flying overnight, arriving the next morning??? it would really help get her aclimated to the time difference for her to sleep (as uncomfy as that is)
maybe talk to her pediatrician about recommending something to help her sleep...do they make kids Nyquil or something like that?
I pop Nyquil before going away and that helps me sleep in the plane.
if it's heinous that I suggested that, I apologize...I am totally clueless about children's medicines.

If your flight is on one of the new planes, then yes you will have tv's at every seat. I can't help with what shoes are available though.
Ophelia makes a great point though, that if you're taking the overnight flight into Rome, I would recommend trying to sleep some.

Re: Flying Alitalia question....
I would definitely ask ur ped for something to relax ur daughter. (try to get something for urself as well) Ive gone to italy pretty much every year since i was an infant flying only Alitalia (have family there) How old is ur dc? i would bring games & i think the dvd is a good idea so she can watch her own movies. You will most likely leave at night and arrive there in the morning. Have a great trip!!! I love Italy!!!

Re: Flying Alitalia question....
It depends on the plane...when we flew to Rome they did have TV's on every seat but you couldn't watch whatever you wanted...they played like 3 movies over and over and you caught them when you caught them...
On the way home we flew and the Tv's were better you could start a movie when you wanted and they had games and such.

Re: Flying Alitalia question....
I just flew them to Milano (no screens) then from Rome to JFK and again no screens. When we flew them back in October from Rome to JFK it was a bigger plane and we all had screens. It was movies and I believe there were kids movies.
