Flying Wednesday need some advice. (anyone fly airtran recently)
Dh is still away so I am traveling up with both kids to see his family. The trip has a connection in ATL and I'll be with my 10 month old and 3 year old. My son has a seat naturally as do I but my daughter is a lapbaby.
I have a booster for my son but I don't think it's FAA so I guess I just check it? Will that be charged aganist checked luggage??
My daughter has a Britax Roundabout, I should just check it right? Since I don't have a seat for her they wouldn't let me use it right? I'm flying Airtran.
Honestly she only weighs 15lbs so I plan on slinging her.
Also she has a milk protein allergy so I need to care alot of nutramagen with me. I use drops ins. I only plan to bring one bottle made but figured maybe I could carry a nagalene bottle with alot of premade formula in it.. is that ok?
I haven't flown with the kids in over a year so I forget some of the rules.

I've never flown airtran, so I can't help you with that. I have, however, flown quite a bit with my milk protein intolerant baby (including coming home from Barcelona last night). Never once have I been hassled for bringing an entire can of her Neocate on board. You just have to take it out of your bag and tell the people at security. The signs say that you are only supposed to carry enough for the flight, but nobody has ever said a word. I bring the Rx from the pediatrician just incase b/c they cannot take a prescription away.

What I would do with the two carseats/boosters is put them in laundry bags and write your last name across them. I am 99.9% sure that they don't count towards your luggage allowance!! And we did it with our carseat and were able to stuff some stuff in for good measure on the way home
The sling is a great idea for DD. Would DS still go in a stroller? THen you could just load up the stroller with stuff.
As for the formula. I never had a problem with it. We traveled when DS was 3 months old with Gentlease and no one ever even ASKED about it. Then, this year, when he was 15 months old, I accidently left 3 Capri Suns in my diaper bag/carry on and security checked them out and then let them go b/c they were for DS
Just take your time and let people help you, they will!!

You can't bring a booster onto the plane so they will make you check it - you can check Airtrains website I know they usually tell you what counts and what doesn't.
As far as liquids go we just got back and I brought a few things of milk and ice in a little bottle cooler in my baby bag - I told them I had it but honestly I think they could have cared less. They didn't even open my bag or ask to see what I had - coming home I bought some milk from macdonalds and again not a word was said - they didn't check anything. When you get to TSA there are choices for lines - we went thru the family traveling line so maybe that helped.
