Flying while pregnant???
Does anyone know If I will be allowed to fly in my last month of pregnancy? If so will I need a doctor note and something of that sort? Its just that I live in Colorado andmy family lives in California. I got bad news that my grandpa only has at the most 2 weeks left to live and my dad just had very serious surgery and he's afraid that he might not recover from it and wants to see my husband and I because hes afraid hes going to leave this earth without seeing us one last time. SO please if anyone know any info about flying while pregnant please let me know. Thanks you for any replies.
Update: Well We went anyways. I got a call on firday night from my borhter telling me that my dad was back in the hospital and it wasn't looking so good.He might not make it through the night.Even though it was a 17 hour drive it went well. We got to Cali to find out that my grandfather just passed away. Later that day I went to visit my dad in ICU. He was doing better. We only were able to stay for a few days. When we left back home my dad was not doing that good.It was very hard to leave. I got a call today from my sister and she told me that my dad is getting out of ICU today. The yhave to take a few test,if they test come out good then he can go home but if not then he was be transfer out of ICU atleast and put into a regular room.SO some good came out of this. My grandpa was 94 so he did live a long life and now hes with my grandma.
Thanks for all the advice and caring that I got from all of you.

Re: Flying while pregnant???
Most arilines will not let you fly after 33 weeks, but I would check with both your Dr and the airlines first. I'm sorry you are having such a rough time

I don't think you can. You may have to drive. Sorry.
I would call just in case though.

So sorry, but most doctors and airlines won't let you after 32-33 weeks
As for driving, as a pp suggested, your doctor may not even ok that, mine didn't want me more than an hour away from my hospital after 36 weeks.

Re: Flying while pregnant???
My doctor said I could fly throughout my pregnancy as long as it was uneventful. They did say that after 34 weeks it's at my own risk because I could go into labor someplace that wasn't home.
I would def check with your doctor and the airline you are thinking about flying because most will not let you fly past a certain point.

I flew to Disney and I was 30 weeks. I was fine but I think I would uncomfortable on a longer flight than 2.50 hours.

I would talk to your Dr. Because of your circumstance, he/she may have to let you go. Its not like there aren't hospitals in CA.

I to was just told at my last appointment that I couldn't even go to Montauk after weeks.
If you choose to go, I would fly not drive, stay very hydrated & get up and walk around a lot on the flight.
I hope everything works out ok for you & your family.
