Flying with a child 2yrs+
When travelling with a child who is 2, is it required that you have a carseat on the plane? I know my daughter is not going to sit in the seat at all, but I have to purchase it and would like to avoid carrying the carseat on if not necessary. I looked at the airlines website and it says 'You CAN bring a carseat as long as it is FAA approved'. But doesnt say you HAVE TO. TIA.

You don't have to. I actually bought the CARES system for DS but wound up just using the airplane seat belt.

No you don't have to. We have a sit n stroll that we use - it's comfy and allows DD to see out the window....which she loves!

We used the CARES restraint---I really liked it, I felt like he was secure and it was also harder for him to wriggle out when he got restless.
