Flying with an infant - what did you put in your diaper bag/carry on
Especially if you traveled on a long flight.
Thanks!

Re: Flying with an infant - what did you put in your diaper bag/carry on
my dd was 10 months when we went to fl, i packed some snacks, her favorite toys and books, juice for when we were taking off and landing so her ears wouldnt pop, an extra set of clothes just incase, and all the usual stuff like diapers and formula. she was really good on the way down and the way back it was around her bed time so she slept almost the whole way, when we were getting off the plane people were telling me they didnt even know there was a baby on board! good luck!

The first time i was still nursing so I brought a blanket to cover us while nursing, diapers, wipes, change of clothes. She was very small & didn't need a lot of different stuff. Most recently she was 12 months & i brought bottles, diapers, wipes, a thin blanket, binks, balmex, 2 outfits, snacks, toys.

My DS is 8 months and I've flown with him several times already! Now that he's getting older I've added more toys but here's usually what I have... the usual- diapers, cream, etc.. tylenol, motrin, teething tablets plenty of toys clorox wipes to wipe down my seatbelt, tray, etc wet ones to wipe down my DS change of clothes I'll usually bring 2 pumped bottles- I always have my boobs since i'm BFing if more is needed extra binkys (since my ds likes to throw them now) blanket

How old will he be?
We've flown with DS four times (3 mos, 8 mos, 15 mos and 2) and up until this trip, I didn't bring much for him.
The first trip (3 months) I just really had a bottle for him on take off and some little toys and a blanket (it was July, but it got chilly on the plane) and diapers, etc.
For a long flight, I'd bring a baby carrier (ie bjorn or whatever) b/c then you can walk around with him in it (and it is good for the airport)

I brought diapers, toys, extra clothes, muslins, thats pretty much it...travelling with tiny ones is pretty easy imo.

Re: Flying with an infant - what did you put in your diaper bag/carry on
Cool, thanks everyone.
DS is 2 1/2 months and we're flying from London to New York tomorrow afternoon. Flight is 8 hours.
I've got
2 changes of clothes for him one for me 2 cloth diapers/muslins for spit up, etc, diapers, wipes, changing mat hand sanitizer antiseptic wipes blanket pacifiers (even though he usually doesn't have one) A few toys, but he's not really that into toys because he's still really little granola bars for me
I'm breastfeeding so not taking any bottles in my carryon. Checking the stroller at the gate, but I'll have my Baby Bjorn also. And I'm going to get myself a sandwich at some point just in case dinner is served at an inconvenient time for us.
<big sigh> I think we're set...!

Trust me, from one yank to another, this is the easy bit! Its when they get bigger its much more challenging.
Also, very helpful for me is that at MAN airport there is a Boots after you check in, so even if you forget something, Boots the Chemist is right there to help you out!
Good luck! You will soar through it!!! I promise!

I'd go an extra outfit & blanket (because I generally overpack) but just in case of any "blowouts" ... and some ziplocs to *store* any blown out items!
