Flying with the twins next week....questions!

So Im flying to NC next week for a family wedding and of course I have questions about what I can bring on the plane. (I know they've been asked a million times before but you know how you don't always pay attention to the answers if it doesn't apply to you at the moment? Chat Icon )

I know as far as snacks I can bring whatever I want.

1. Since they're not on formula anymore am I still allowed to bring premade bottles of milk with me?

2. What about yogurt? Is there a certain amount of ounces allowed like liquids?

3. What would be a great new toy to have for them on the plane?

4. If somebody gets fussy will the flight attendants let me walk around for a bit with them?

5. Do I really need a bag for the car seats and stroller? Or will they be ok without it?

Between flying with 2 babies (I am so concerned about them crying a lot) and flying home on 9/11 my anxiety is climbing everyday!

Re: Flying with the twins next week....questions!

I'm very interested in the answer to these questions as well! We are flying with DD next month for the first time and I'm nervous!

Fortunately for you, the flight from NY to NC is only 1 h 10 m in the air. That's nice and short! We're flying from NC to Boston and it's about 2 h 20 m in the air. And we're leaving just before DD's bedtime, but don't have a separate seat for her and she doesn't sleep in our laps. Ugh.

I definitely plan to bring formula for DD but am going to bring it in pre-sealed containers (RTF). All her food is in pouches (I won't bring any homemade food).

I bought a bag for her stroller and car seat and rnp sleeper (since she still sleeps in that) for $25 at BRU. It's ENORMOUS so everything will fit. I read on Delta's website that it's free to gate check everything for the baby. I figure it'll be easier if it's all together like that. Plus I was thinking of taking some bubble wrap to put in there as well to try to prevent anything from breaking.

Re: Flying with the twins next week....questions!

From my experience (and i've flown probably 8x round trip with DD so far in 2 yrs) you can bring whatever you want with a baby.

1. Since they're not on formula anymore am I still allowed to bring premade bottles of milk with me?

-YES, they may test it by opening it and waving a strip over it but that's it.

2. What about yogurt? Is there a certain amount of ounces allowed like liquids?

-No, bring whatever size you have.

3. What would be a great new toy to have for them on the plane?

-Mr. Potato Head, Aquadoodle, stickers, new books

4. If somebody gets fussy will the flight attendants let me walk around for a bit with them?

-Yes, even when there was bad turbulence they let DH get up with DD and stand in the back when she was hysterical (overtired) one flight.

5. Do I really need a bag for the car seats and stroller? Or will they be ok without it?

-I never used a bag and gate check stuff every time we fly.

Any other questions let me know!! I'm a terrible flyer I hate it so much but fly often since my fam is in NY. How old are your twins? I posted a few tips a while back about flying but the biggest tip I have is to make sure and give them their bottle during take off and WAIT til the plane is actually going down the runway.

Thank you so much! They will be turning 1 two days before we're flying. They can be so unpredictable sometimes so it can really go either way with them.

As long as the seatbelt sign is off, you can move around with them.

DS really enjoys the Little People books - they have a ton of flaps and it keeps him busy when we fly.

He also enjoys playing with the window shade and the seatbelt.

I usually use a gate check bag for my items. I check my carseat with checked baggage so I don't have to lug it through the airport and just bring the stroller to the gate.
