follies question
I have a question... I had back to back IUIs the past 2 days and I know my dr mentioned the one egg that was present. I keep reading about everyone talking about their 2-3, 4, and even 10 follies... not to sound stupid but is this the same thing? My dr didn't mention any concern about there only being one??? What does this mean to you??? Thanks! I am just on my 4th round of IUIs, medicated this time and have been ttc for almost a full year now so I was wondering if this was something new to think about.

Re: follies question
Depending on the type and amount of medication you are on, you may develop none, 1 or multiple follies. I have had IUI's with 1 and IUI's with 5. And everything in between. remember, it only takes one!! GL!!

Re: follies question
You can have many follies, but only 1 or 2 that are mature, if that makes sense.
I know my last IUI before starting IVFs I had 5 follies, but only 3 were large enough for me to trigger and have my IUI

Re: follies question
for IUI's the docs like to see between 1-4 mature follies. They don't like more than 4 because the chances for multiples are too high. Remember John & Kate had those 6 from an IUI! .
For IVF, the number of follies can be much larger because they retrieve and fertilize them and can control how many enbryos to put back.
