Follies vs Eggs
I am thinking I should really know this, but I know I can count on you ladies for the answer. Does a follicle always carry an egg. Meaning, if I produce 2 follies, should I assume that I am going to produce 2 eggs?

Re: Follies vs Eggs
Well in theory yes, however you also need the egg to be mature. If its not mature, it either wont release or the RE wont be able to retrieve it when they go in for ER.
I had 9 follicles one IVF cycle but they only retrieved 3 eggs. The others looked like they were empty. However when an egg is not mature sometimes it will stick to the inside of the follicle and they can't get it. And you wont really know this until you go in. That is why they measure them. They will usually trigger when your largest follicle reaches around 18 (for an IVF cycle). That is also the reason you don't want a "lead" follicle. Which will mess up the other ones.
