Food Gifts for the Holidays?
Does anyone make food related gifts for the holidays? Such as mason jar mixes or baskets etc?
Etd- I am looking for ideas for my coworkers and some friends of the family.

Re: Food Gifts for the Holidays?
I haven't, but I know a lot of people who make homemade cookies and breads that are always a huge hit.
I know someone who makes this yummy fudge and marshmallow concoction that's a hit in our house.

I bake cookies for people. I just wrap them ona plate nicely. You can get cheap nice plateas at a dollar store or xmas tree shop or homegoods.

Re: Food Gifts for the Holidays?
I make up gift bags of homemade cookies and chocolates to give away to my Dad and his GF, my BIL's mom, and his aunt and uncle, my sis and her family.
I wrap the cookies in cellophane bags, tie them with pretty ribbon and a decorative tag describing the cookie. Then I put everything in a holiday gift bag.
I also started exchanging cookies with one of my co-workers. I trade her my coconut chocolate chip and lemon butter cookies for her pizzelles.

Re: Food Gifts for the Holidays?
If you wanted to actually bake something yourself (not sure if you do from your original post, or if you are looking to pay someone that makes those mason jars...) Kohl's has some cute holiday plates, and you know there are always great sales there. I pick up a bunch of those and then whenever we go to someone's house for something during the season, I put whatever I baked on there, so it's a cute little gift.
But, I have also heard that making the mason jars with ingredients isn't too hard to do yourself...it's just having the time!
ETA: These are some of the ones I picked up - usually the small salad plate ones

I was thinking of making the red velvet cake balls, and putting them in cute boxes.

Re: Food Gifts for the Holidays?
Every year my mom and I spend a weekend baking cookies, fudge and toffee. We always put it in cute little platters or tins and give it out to people. Not necessarily as gifts, but "extras." I also bring a platter to work and to DH's aunt & uncle's house when we go there on Christmas night.

Re: Food Gifts for the Holidays?
I usually make platters for the places that we visit around the holidays. I was thinking about making some Jars gifts like these one below.
I wasn't sure if anyone has a recipe that they like or a real "hit". Thanks for the responses and any ideas anyone wants to offer!

You can make mini loaves, cakes or pies and wrap them in a kitchen towel-use cellophane underneath so the towel doesn't get dirty. Tie with a ribbon or raffia. You can even add a christmas ornament for special peeps. Or make a custom label on your computer-punch a hole and tread with ribbon

Re: Food Gifts for the Holidays?
Last year my SIL's decided on a make and bake holiday. They make, I bake! I did these and they were a hit. They didn't look anywhere near as perfect as the pics but they looked really cute in the mason jars.

I also did assorted cake balls in cute boxes I got from Michael's. cake balls

Re: Food Gifts for the Holidays?
i always say i'll do this to save some money and never follow through. but this year with the mortgage it needs to happen.
i'm doing this for co-worker gifts for both me and DH. prob mason jars with dry mix and a recipe for cranberry/orange/dark choc chip/ oatmeal cookies. i figure that'll look pretty in a jar.
