I'm right there with you. DS is 11 months and I am trying to introduce more solid food. So far he has had:

Puffs & cheerios (he could live on these)
Gerber Yogurt Melts
Gerber Biter biscuits
waffles
pancakes
scrambled eggs (didn't like)
mashed potatoes (LOVES them)
mashed avocado
pastina
yogurt (plain & mixed w/ fruit)

I want/need to try more but I am freakishly paranoid about choking!

I have been giving DS pretty much everything we eat. I just cut it up really small or feed it to him.

Breakfast...
Bagels
Oatmeal
Eggs
Waffles (homemade ones are a big hit)
Pancakes
Fruit...grapes, cantelope, pineapple...no berries yet but I am going to try soon

Other meals...he has
Hamburger
Chicken
Pork
Corn
Peas
Creamed Spinach
Pasta
Mac & Cheese
Cheese
Crackers
Applesauce
Potato

I really have been giving him people food. He likes to feed himself as evidenced by his weight. Does DS like to self feed?

Re: food ideas for babies transitioning off of jarred foods

I give DD a lot of things DH and I eat. She loves pieces of cheese. I give her big pieces of american cheese and she bites into them.

I also have given her some homemade lentil soup - she loves!

Also, banana, chicken nuggets, grilled cheese sandwhich,

Sometimes these things are hits, sometimes not. I generally have to keep switching things around to keep her fed - she'll get bored of something mid meal and I'll give her something else until she is full. We give her a mix of table foods and jarred foods at this time.

Re: food ideas for babies transitioning off of jarred foods

my DD is 11 months too and for a while everything is trial and error. I find DD needs flavor or she spits it right out.

oatmeal and banana are a daily breakfast

Love casserol/meatloaf type things
chicken in any type of sauce
pasta w/ tom sauce
Calzones I make (turkey sausages, peppers, wheat bread)
meatballs
cheese
cherrios (a starter to just about every meal)
bananas
peaches (fruit cup type)
bread
pancakes

some meals are great and she chows donw. Others she wears in her hair and on the floor.Chat Icon

Some of DS's (11 months) latest favs:

pastina w/ egg yolk - I cook the pastina then put an egg yolk in the pan w/little milk and scramble. I then add some pastina (sometimes I add butter & cheese to pastina first) then scramble it all together. If it gets too thick, just add a little more milk. I then feed to DS w/ a veggie. He loves it!

Grilled cheese - toast bread and add cheese on top. cut into small pieces or strips.

And we finish all meals w/ yogurt, his absolute favorite thing to eat.

AMERICAN CHEESE!! She literally started yelling and kicking her legs in the high chair when I pulled a slice out!
I also melt american cheese on pastina or elbow macaroni mixed with all sorts of stuff (brocolli, cauliflower, meatballs, turkey, etc.) She can't get enough if it has am. cheese!

DD was the same way. she spit everything out or throws it on the floor. But it has gotten better as we keep trying. other than cheese, our go to foods are bananas, avocado, cheerios, pears, goldfish.

HTH!

Re: food ideas for babies transitioning off of jarred foods

wow...my DD is just 10 months and I feel like it will be FOREVER before she is ready to eat half the things you ladies are giving your DC's!!! So far I am very proud to say that DD will now eat cheerios and small bits of polly-o string cheese! Any other table food we've tried OR stage 3 foods with "tender bits for chewing" she gags on and then throws up!! Chat Icon

Re: food ideas for babies transitioning off of jarred foods

For breakfast we do:
Waffles topped with applesauce
Oatmeal (maybe try different flavors?)
Lots of different kind of fruits
Scrambled egg with toast
Pancakes

Lunch
Avocado & cream cheese
Grilled Cheese
Dr Praegers Spinach or Broccoli Littles
Fruits
Applesauce mixed with baby cereal
Yogurt mixed with fruit
bits of Turkey
Cheese
Crackers
Scrambled eggs with spinach & cheese
Western Omelet with hashed browns

Dinner
DS LOVES meatloaf---he is not big on meats in general, but meatloaf is always a go
Some soups went well--split pea was good with him
Pasta & sauce
Mashed potato pancakes with veggies mixed in
What I did was try what we were having to some degree, other nights I would just give a stage 3 dinner
