Re: For all of the moms that said they are done

Different reasons - first being that while I had easy pregnancys they both had some medical scares that were very nerve wracking - they all turned out healthy.
I don't want to tempt fate either - I feel like I was blessed with my 3 gorgeous children and I'm getting older so that was a factor as well.

Also, money - sadly we don't have alot.

I am physically done after this pregnancy having children. I will have 2 children. I want another child, but will not carry it. I have a pregnancy disease that stops my life for a while. I will adopt when the time comes.

Re: For all of the moms that said they are done

We are set on 2. I have a boy and a girl. We would have been done even if both were the same sex. Our reasoning was that we decided that 2 was our complete family

Re: For all of the moms that said they are done

if i had lots of money i would have more. But since I have two and I have one of each, we figured we would stop here because we can give them things.

Re: For all of the moms that said they are done

We are done and we have 4 total (I had 1 Chat Icon and he had 1 Chat Icon ) before we got married and we now have 2 Chat Icon together. Financially it's tough and causes a lot of stress especially because with my last 2 I have been a SAHM. So for us to be a little more comfortable I need to get my @ss back to work Chat Icon and that won't be until they go to school (another 4yrs) and dh and I really never had anytime to ourselves since we got married and already had kids so since we are still young (29) we might get that time together when the kids get a little older. But I'll admit it that some times when I hear someone is pregnant or see someone that is I think am I really sure I'm done Chat Icon But then I get into a car with all these kids and running from sport to sport that feeling fades away real fast Chat Icon

I always said I wanted 3. Then in my mid to late 20s, I decided that was crazy and I wanted 2. Now that I am 32, I say one is JUST fine....okay, I would like another but I have to be realistic.

Re: For all of the moms that said they are done

I am not sure. Right now I say I am done. I have a 10 yr old step son and Hailey is 15months. I work for DH during naps and bedtime and both financially and physically it is hard. We are talking of hiring someone else and if we can afford that and for me to be home then MAYBE I would consider it. I do most if not all of the child rearing and I am just not sure I can handle another. We don't have room in the house. I want to make sure I am mentally prepared if I choose to have another so its not in the cards right now. DH said he wanted 4 more before we had Hailey but I think she threw us both through a loop and now he doesn't say boo. I loved being pregnant aside from the painful siatica and feet so it kind of makes me sad. I am 28 so I have a few good years left before I make a decision.

Re: For all of the moms that said they are done

we were caught between having 2 or 3 when I was PG with #2 (a surprise). Now that he's here, we're done. We have 1 of each and I think our thing was to have at least a boy and a girl.

Re: For all of the moms that said they are done

I'm still not sure. I have a boy and a girl, 2 years apart. Feeling like we are done, but a part of me may want another as I see Molly growing so fast already. But then I think about being pregnant again and I'm not a fan of the pregnancy part. If we have another one, I will wait a little longer...not two years apart.

but then I met DH and DD#2 came (also a surprise) 5 years later then we planned DD #3 5years after her
now we have 3 beautiful girls nd I am soooo DONE but then sometimes I get that feeling of wanting another but we cant afford it so we arent having anymore

I said I was done after the twins..but then i got remarried and I just knew that having a child with my DH was the right thing to do. Now we have yours, mine and ours....that makes 6. We're done and Im OK with it. But I also know that if he tried to talk me into it Id be an easy sell...Its hard knowing that its your last little one.

I really thought that I was done, but then something hit me a few months ago, and now we are on the TTC board.

I come from a family of 6 kids, so I would have loved a large family, but within our realistic terms. I always saw myself with 3 or 4, so to have to stop at 2 is a little depressing for me.

this is me. Large family of 7 kids...DH says 2 is his limit. He makes sense with his reasoning, but I think I am always going to want more then 2.

Re: For all of the moms that said they are done

I'm done - beyond done Chat Icon

Dh would love 2 more and there is that teensy-weensy part of me that would like another.

However, Jack is a TOUGH child to raise. I've been through a lot with him that I haven't posted on the boards. Emotionally I don't think I could handle another child like him and since there is no guarantee I can't chance it. My mental health is just more important and my happiness.

So 2 it is.........we'll just get another dog Chat Icon

Re: For all of the moms that said they are done

Always wanted 2. Wanted two so he/she could have a sibling but we'd also have enough time, energy and resources to be able to devote to two of them.

Always wished it could be one boy and one girl.

As one of my co-workers said when I announced B/G twins, "T won the lottery". I love having twins.

We feel like we have.Chat Icon

Unless an absolute 100% miracle "surprise" (I had IVF. Due to IF factors and age is almost 100% impossible) happens we are absolutely done.

Re: For all of the moms that said they are done

Well I always wanted 3 and DH only 1 so 2 is the compromise and that is what we have. I still am having a very hard time accepting the fact that at the age of 25 almost 26 I am done having children. I am gonna try to convince him again when they are 3&4 to start trying but I won't push the issue then. I think if they weren't 2 under 2 he would have felt differently but this transistion has been kinda tough on him and still hard for him to adjust.

Had this current pregnancy been as easy as my 1st was, I would consider a 3rd. I think 2 is the perfect # for us...one for each hand and one for each parent.

But, if this is a boy, I might really try for another girl. Chat Icon
