Subject -- So it's a C-Section posted the day before I had DD

I went to my doc yesterday for my 40w4d appt. There is almost nothing going on and I'm starting to show signs of preeclampsia so I'm having a scheduled c-section tomorrow morning at 7:30am, so hopefully by 9am or so our little girl will be here.

I woke up at 6ish this morning with intense stomach pressure/pains (but low). It really just felt like I had to poop (sorry TMI). I tried and felt very constipated but pain pretty bad. I walked around for a little bit, had some water and pain persists. I had since gone to the bathroom a couple of times (now it's diarrea - sorry TMI). I keep getting the pain every so often and keep running to the bathroom to see if I have to go again - I think I'm done.
Anyway, debating whether I should go to work today - is this the start of something or just a stomach issue?
Today is supposed to be my last day of work but I'll obviously stay close to home if necessary.
I'm just relaxing now - my alarm doesn't even go off for another half hour. Last "gas" pain was 5 minutes ago or so.

Any thoughts? Pain seems way too low to be a contraction.

ETS: Just had another bad "I gotta poop" like pain but nothing.

Someone please tell me if this is normal????

I feel like I have to go #2 all day...but nothing is happening. I feel my belly get all tight and hard and a sharp shooting pain going down my back on both my sides. It's uncomfortable to sit for too long, lie down, or stand. Also...when I went #1, there was a little blood in my urine. I'm thinking this could be braxton hicks contractions (I'm 33w3d). I told DH if I don't feel better tomorrow, I will call, and go see the doctor. Any advice?????

Sounds like it might be something else like a yeast infection so I would definaltely call the doc but some cranberry juice and yogurt might help hope you feel better

Yes I'm sitting here having a contraction but making sure I posted this news on LIFs
Was feeling 'odd' since my appointment this morning (that internal must have worked!) By 7pm tonight , the cramps and contractions started intensifying and becoming more regular, about 10-15 mins apart. I called my doctor a little while ago and she said to head on over to the hospital! My water hasn't broken yet but I finally lost my plug so I'm hoping that things move along ... Chat Icon

I'm a bundle of emotions right now - excited, nervous, anxious, scared but HAPPY too. So crazy!

I wanted to take this time to thank you ladies for the support, friendship and advice you have given me these past 9 months. I feel such a special bond with my fellow preggos and am so happy & proud to have shared this experience with you.. thank you girls for everything !!

Oh and if you don't mind me asking...please send along some easy labor vibes ladies..
I posted some of my final belly shots in my community album the other day.. hopefully the next pictures I will be posting will be with my baby boy in my arms

I was already in the hospital for high blood pressure so here is the last post that DH gave for me:

Hey guys

Just wanted to pass along a quick update on us. Nothing too alarming, but wanted to pass it along.

Yesterday, Christine went in for a regular checkup on the pregnancy and they found that her blood pressure was elevated. It had been borderline the week before, and they had asked her to monitor it three times a day. At home, her BP seemed fine, but it shot up in the doctor's office. Again, nothing off the chart, but high enough. They chalked it up to nerves, but what concerned them was a concentration of protein in her urine sample. And a blood test showed a slightly low platet level. High blood pressure, protein in the urine and low platelets are symptoms of pre-eclampsia, which can be dangerous if it escalates, both to her and the twins.

She was admitted to the hospital. Upon admitting her, they also found that, even though her cervix is still closed, she was having small contractions. She could barely feel them, but they gave her an injection to stop the contractions, and also a shot of steroids to enhance the growth of the twins' lungs, in case she goes into labor in the short-term.

Right now, she is stable and in a room. Her BP is monitored regularly and it looks great. They will be keeping her for at least today, and likely into the weekend, if not longer. They want to assess how advanced the pre-eclampsia already is (it sounds like it's in its early stages), and also want to see if it rapidly progresses. Everyone is different in how it progresses, and there is neither a cause for it, nor a cure to slow it. If they see she is progressing fast, they will take the twins. She will be 34 weeks Sunday, so the chances are good for survival if they were to come soon, but ideally, they want to stave her off as long as they can - probably around 36 weeks (May 18).

I will pass another update in the coming days.

Quick Update:

It looks like if all goes well, she'll be home tomorrow (5/3). Her pressure was a little high last night, but it came down this morning. They haven't given us the protein results yet - should have those this morning.

When she comes home, she'll be on total bed rest and a strict diet. She'll also have to go to the doc a couple of times a week, and they can determine if and when she has to go back in to the hospital.

We're of the feeling that if she has to go back again in the next week, they should just keep her there and schedule a section at 36 weeks or so, or whenever they feel appropriate, so we don't have to keep doing this back and forth. She'll be 34 weeks on Sunday.

Just a quick update. She's still stable. However, if her tests come back drastically different tomorrow than they did today, the twins may be born in the next couple of days, at 34 weeks.

It's pretty much day to day, now.

Things are looking really good. They managed to stabilize her pre-eclampisa. BP and protein levels are normal. They were concerned that her platelet levels were dropping, but they gave her an IV and the numbers spiked nicely. If they continue to do so (she's still hooked up to the IV), they may be able to hold her for another week, which would be awesome, and would lilkely mean that the twins would not have to spend any time in the NICU. Also, the more the platelet levels improve, the better the chance that she can be awake during the section. If they continued to drop, she'd have to be knocked out.

But she's doing really good and they don't see her delivering for another week, but are still taking it one day at a time.

We've just learned that based on Christine's latest test results, everything is still fine, but since a lot of the results are borderline, the doctors don't want to wait for it to become an emergency situation, and are confident at her delivering at just over 34 weeks.

Therefore, she is scheduled to deliver at 7:45 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Someone will be on tomorrow at some point to spread the news.

I am experiencing this constant back pain in between contractions. Sord of like mentrual cramps. Is this normal?

I thought you were supposed to be pain free in between contractions.

I should add that this the VERY early stages of labor. I am having sporadic non rhythmic contractions right now.

Mommy and baby are doing well, but we had quite a scare on Friday. During labor the baby's heart rate dropped to dangerous levels. And I required an emergency c-section. They got the baby out in record time, but he was having trouble breathing and had to be ressucitated.

He is doing well. Breathing on his own and even eating. I am hoping to be able to take him home on Tuesday.

Pics will follow soon. I am waiting for DH to bring the camera wire to the hospital so that I can upload them.

I have been having annoying menstral like cramps since last night but now they are starting to take my breath away. I haven't started really truly timing them yet but they seem to be coming anyway where from 3-8minutes. I'm thinking I'm in early labor now!

Also wanted to mention it took me about 10minutes to type this message due contractions. Talk about an LIF addict!

Ok so I took a nice long hot shower which helped a little bit. The contractions are starting to travel to my back now too so the hot water felt good.

Now should I wake up DH (not sure how much help he can be right now) or let him sleep?

Some seem to be as close as 2minutes and others as far as 10min.

I wound up heading over to the hospital around 11ish and had DD at 7pm that night.

I had just posted how I was in the hosp. they said in labor and sent home. I went into REAL labor later that night and Noah was born at 8:11 am the next morning.

Last night I was freaking out BAD. I was ready to just say, do a c section, get the baby out, I cant handle this....When you are sooo ready and are like HUH????????

Im still like, how could this have happened??? But it did , so what can I do about it now, but deal right?

This will be my last post as a preggo! I am having my c-section at 11:15 tomorrow morning and I just wanted to say, thank you to everyone for all their support and answers and shared fears, over the past 9 months. I can't wait to get back home so I can post pictures of my little Nina Grace.

It was fun to read everyone's posts now that I know you all as moms. My last post was a photo of my dog on my snoogle pillow. I am really that obsessed with my dog, aren't I? I still remember saying goodbye to him before I left for the hospital. I told him I am sorry that some things may change and sorry I might not be able to walk him so much after my c-section but I love him so much.

I'm off to the hospital For my c-section, and I just wanted to thank you all!! Your kind words and well wishes have really touched me. I just don't know how I would have made in these last 9 months without you girls. It is an amazing feeling to know that no matter how sad or scared I felt, there were other women out there who felt the way that I did. Thank you again!

I had alot of progress since Monday. I am 3 cm, cervix "nice and soft", baby is low. I knew she dropped since Monday because I'm peeing like crazy and OMG the pressure has been bad the past 24 hours.

I'm terrified, but excited. The poor doctor had to listen to my questions forever- and she was EXTREMELY helpful.

She said she won't let me go past my DD of 6/18 (actually 6/17 as of last sono)anyway because she's measuring somewhat big and I have some pretty large fibroids that could negatively affect the labor. So, if tomorrow is more convenient, then 3 days is nothing.

I know there are so many people who feel induction is not the best way, and I tend to feel like that as well. Please just send me good vibes that all goes well. Those of you with good induction stories- PLEASE send them to me.

I can't believe that in 24 hours I may be a mommy.

Please keep me in your thoughts tomorrow ladies. I have to be there at 5 am! I don't know HOW I'm going to sleep tonight.....
