For mommies with 1 who plan on having more
What do you think you will do differently next time?
I am going to try harder to BF. Even though, when I look back, I don't think my milk came in, but I would love to be more dilligent about that.
Also, I will NOT buy so many clothes that will never be worn. And waste so much money on silly things that are not practical.

I will BF like I did with DD but will try to do it for longer, supplementing so I can get a break.
I think I'll be a lot more relaxed (e.g., realizing its okay if they cry during a diaper change, bath, etc. and not get anxiety over it and realize they are not in pain, just annoyed ) . As for the clothes...if I have another girl...I can't make any promises.

#2 is coming in 2 weeks, so I already have this in my head
We are not going to waste money on useless baby gear
I am not going to overbuy clothes and actually take back clothes I really don't like that people gave me as gifts(I have a ton of stuff that is so scratchy, ugly, I took the tags off of.)
I am bottlefeeding this time due to mommy still needs to heal from Gianna's birth over a year ago
I am going to start a bedtime routine much much earlier this time around
I am not going to worry about every little tiny little thing in the beginning-i drove myself nuts with Gianna.

I will try to breastfeed for a bit longer, I actually enjoyed doing it but stopped after 8 weeks due to lack of milk

I found it hard BF DD so I stopped, I think with the next I will do both.. breast and bottle.
I will not waste money on useless stuff either and tell my family to calm down with the clothes.
I think I did pretty well for the 1st time around...I established a bedtime and her sleeping thru the night by 3 mo. in her crib.. she's met all of her milestones early... so there is nothing major I would change.

Definitely BF longer and really appreciate them when they are tiny...they grow up sooo fast!

hmmmmm. We really lucked out with Bella...and I learned a lot here. I wouldn't do too much different...
I WOULD give myself more time to heal and realize that I can't be 150% and shouldn't feel guilty if I need a nap or to relax (if DH wants to take a walk with the baby, have fun...I ain't missing anything by staying home and sleeping)

Me too...I think i will go to bottle right away instead of forcing myself through hell for a few days instead of just trusting my instincts and sticking with formula. I was such a happier mom!
I will prob. be a little less anxious and not start at the bassinet for an hour making sure the baby is breathing, lol..
But overall I wouldn't do much differently. I've found a groove that works and plan on sticking to it!

Same here- I also will start supplementing right away if my milk supply is like the last time. No guilt trips that I am doing the right thing. I wish I let myself relax about that the first weeks with DD.

That about sums it up. I thought I needed every baby XYZ item out there when in reality, the basics would do just fine. I would definitely try harder to BF. I think I gave up on it so easily because I couldn't "relax" enough about my surroundings to take the time and try.

I just want to say to all the moms who thought they gave up on breastfeeding too soon- You did your best and your child is lucky to have mommy's who care so much. Our culture has become so pro-breast feeding that it forgets there are moms out there who's milk never comes in, make insufficent milk(even after doing EVERYTHING to change that), or just aren't happy breast feeding.
I don't know, I just feel badly that so many of you feel you didn't try hard enough. I am sure you did

-I'll definitely try harder to BF longer
-I will allow visitors but I will not feel bad about going into my bedroom to BF
-I will NOT handwash bottles
-I will put my feet up and recover, and not clean my bathroom a week later (and crazy things like that  )
-I will take more videos
-I'll start the photo album immediately and not wait until he/she is 8 months old

I'm going to try and not co-sleep with the next baby, Julia is still in bed with us and shes getting a little to big to be in bed with us now. It was so easy to have her there while I was BF her, but I just go so use to having her close to me I didn't want to stop it. Once we move into our new house, she will get her own room and big girl bed!
I wont buy so many clothes next time too, Julia has some baby clothes with tags on them, that are boxed away.

I will stop work hopefully and I will not work until the day I deliver
I will try to establish a bedtime routine as my DD has none and sleeps with us every night. I still wont be able to do CIO but i will try to get the next child more used to its room than ours...heres hoping
Oh and I wont try to be wonder woman like I did the last time.

Than was my #1 thing when I was pg with #2..... I refuse to let Jayden sleep in the bed with us. We are transitioning him from his cosleeper into the crib right now. And Nate will be getting his big boy bed in a few weeks.
If we have #3, I will definitely make more effort to BF. I did do better with Jayden than I did with Nate, but it was tough when he was in and out of the hospital. There was so much going on, I didn't want to deal with pumping while he was in the hospital.

As a mommy who had #2 recently, I too went right to bottle feeding as I forced myself to do it with Jack and was miserable. I saved myself the heartache this time.
Also, just went with the flow more. With Jack I used to write down when he ate, when he pooped, we he wet, etc. With Molly I didn't do any of that.. I guess as a second time Mom I was a little more secure in that she was eating enough, etc.

I try not to even feel bad about it. Honestly, yes- BF is the best way to go- but it isn't for everyone and thank god there is formula now or where would we be...
Of course- b/c I felt so guilty about the non-BFing- DD eats 99% organic....

There will be a bottle pumped and ready for Leo to give baby #2 when he comes home from work. I was so tired. I had, well still have, the tendancy to be too hands on. I expect Leo to know what to do, but at the same time, I do everything, he doesn't learn or get the chance.
I think this is going to be super important, mainly so Josh can get some time with me while Leo helps with #2.

I would try to breastfeed longer and try to enjoy the 1st few months bonding rather then stressing abt if im doing it right.
