For moms who thought about pros and cons of a VBAC
Hi Ladies!
I was just wondering if I could FM someone who thought about a VBAC or had one for their second baby. My DS is 8 months old and I am 6 weeks along with #2. I had a c-section for DS and am trying to decide if I should switch doctors and try for a VBAC. My current ob/gyn doesn't do them at all.
If you were considering a VBAC and opted no or ended up having one could I FM you some questions?
Thank you so much!

Re: For moms who thought about pros and cons of a VBAC
Although DS is only 8 weeks, I had already talked to my Dr. about #2.
I discussed my delivery options with #2 in mind and the implications for a 2nd pregnancy.
I most likelly do another c-section even though the recovery was brutal.
I am WAY too worried about a VBAC and my Dr. is not into the idea at all.

I did It was the best decision ever, I am so happy my doctor supported my decision and that I got to do it. My first was a c/s only because he was breech, so I was the perfect candidate. If it is that important to you, I would certainly switch doctors. The risks are no more than a regular birth or a surgical c/s. There are a few factors that will make a VBAC even more realistic, so FM and we can chat!

there's probably not too many dr.s out there that will risk the complications of a VBAC with someone whos delivering so soon after a vaginal delivery. there isn't enough time for you to heal in between.. you will be risking hemorrhage, possibly even rupture of your uterus causing hypoxia to your baby.. sorry to put it so bluntly (i am a NICU nurse) i know there are views that a VBAC is a great option.. but it doesn't work for everyone.

My mom had a VBAC after I was born, my brother and I are sixteen months apart. She said it was the best thing she could have done. I had a section and am still on the fence about what I will do when it comes to number 2.

Re: For moms who thought about pros and cons of a VBAC
I had a c-section with my first 26 months ago and I am due in 6 weeks and will hopefully be doing a VBAC. My doctor told me all the risks the other day and it is scary but it is 1% that will have a rupture and you are constantly monitored from the first contraction and if anything seems wrong they will do a c-section immediately. My doctor is fine with the VBAC he just wanted to explain all the risks and what will be done. If it is something you really want I would fine another doctor.
