For the first time since my baby blues days, I'm having a really bad day

I'm just feeling really blue. I hate when I feel like this. It's been a few months, but today all those feelings of isolation came back.

My DH went to AC for the weekend and it's days like this I realize how alone/lonely I am. I moved up to Putnam county and I do love it here, but I miss my friends and family alot. It was a beautiful day and we were all alone. It's so hard to meet new moms when you work full time.

It didn't help that DD was a crankypuss ALL day. She cried and whined on and off the entire day and would only take 1/2 hour cat naps here and there, refused to eat, etc... I had to do all I could to muster up the patience and strength to just not want to run away. I even put her in the crib and let her cry because I had to walk away (and I feel HORRIBLE for doing that!)

I love DD and DH to death, and I'm sure tomorrow will feel different but I haven't been alone once day since her birth and I think I need a break.

I am right there with you. Leo worked 8 long days straight this week, his day off comes-what happens? He goes biking with his friend. They leave at 11 AM. Its 98 degrees out, how long can you mountain bike?

He comes home at 5:45 PM. They decided to kayak. So, I complain. Now, he has tomorrow off and I am online trying to find something fun for us to do. Which is BS, I feel like I am in high school again trying to get equal time in that he spends with his friends.

The last two days, I have escaped to the gym. Leo is only capable of entertaining Josh for about 15 minutes.

Now I am on a rant...yesterday I was putting Josh in the car. My upstairs neighbor asks if I am married. We have lived here for 2 months. I said yeah. She says she never sees him just me and baby all the time. Then asks if he is in the military?

nope just a workaholic with too many hobbies. If it wasn't for LIF, I would not ever get out or have anyone over.

I would feel the same if Patrick left for the weekend. But Steve will be back before you know it. Think of the fun we will have in a few weeks. Its hard to be by yourself when you to handle a crankypants. I totally know where you are coming from.

I could have written this myself today. I was really down earlier too. DH was away Mon-Thurs. for work, his flight was majorly delayed getting home Thurs, he had work to do from home yesterday, then today he played golf most of the day, and now he's at a concert. I was so bummed that I wasn't back in NY where I would have done something fun with my friends. So Lily & I went shopping. Luckily she was a very good girl and we spent lots of $$$ (mostly on her) And we bought nothing for DH. It is so tough being away from family & friends. even though I'm a SAHM, I'm having a hard time meeting other moms too. I was supposed to go to a playgroup yesterday but I screwed up the address and couldn't find it. I haven't had a break in a really long time either, but DH is home all week, so I'm getting my hair cut & colored (first time since March) on Monday. That's 2 hours of ME time. I hope you get a break very soon!! You deserve it.

I'm sorry to hear that and so sorry that you feel so isolated there. Can you maybe get a girls' weekend away with some friends? I've been hearing a lot of hopeful stories that babies will nap more once they are moving around more and walking. I hope that is the case and you can get a break in the day and do something for yourself!

I hope you get a day to yourself soon so you can relax. I know how you feel about being isolated up here- it was bearable before the baby, but it really is hard. We do have to get together one of these days!

dont' feel guilty for feeling that way - I think most of us would in your position! Letting the baby cry in her crib for a little bit is okay too - we all need a break now and then. It's hard when you're on your own for the weekend!

Maybe you could join a Mommy/Baby group on Saturday mornings so you can meet more moms and get out more

I know exactly how you feel! We moved to Ohio from Texas when I was 5 monhts pregnant with Jack and it was so isolating and lonely. We didn't have any friends and I had nothing to do since I didn't have a job. We left all of our friends who were also starting to have children.

Take some time for yourself during the day. Even if Hannah has to cry while you take a shower or do your nails! Just shut the door and you will feel better when you do something totally for yourself. It will give you the energy and patience to go back to the baby.\\\

Im sorry, Im having those days too, I am always home alone all day nd most of the night, I am going crazy and lashed out at DH that putting both to bed and bathing them all by myself is getting crazy. There are some days I just cry when they are sleeping
I really need my day at the spa real soon.
