For those ladies working...

Do you ever feel like you just want to quit!! I am finding that I can sit less and less at my desk for long periods of time and am getting uncomfortable! I feel like just quiting or maybe it's just one of those days!

Don't get me wrong, totally thankful to have a job and especially since DH is out of work right now...which is annoying me as well bc as much as I can be supportive i wish it was me home and him working, I just wish maternity leave could start like when you find out you are pregnant!!!

Re: For those ladies working...

YES! I totally agree with you! Maybe I just hate working but since I'm only 7 weeks pregnant and don't plan on coming back, I feel like since it's so temporary it's pointless...although they dont know I'm not coming back! I am grateful to have a job right now also but I just have an ackward feeling being at work. First of all like I should be doing other things like this isn't important and I don't know, just feels weird to me I have to pretend for the next 7 months that I'll be back.

Re: For those ladies working...

im sooo with you! I'm very stressed at work. Today I had to do reading tests with the kids and we sit at the desk and I caught myself just about to nod off a few times
Plus I'm getting nervous with all this swine flu at the schools and the kids are super crazy since its the end of the year. Thank goodness only 21 more days....but I'm already dreading coming back in Sept.

See it worked out for you, in a certain way!

It's such a hard situation, never would I have thought that he would be out of work while I was pregnant but here we are and I have to say it S U C K S!!! He has been picking up 90% of the slack at home which is wonderful and I can't complain but when he tells me he is taking a lazy day and/or that he is tired I want to shoot fireballs at him with my eyes because I can't listen to him say he is tired!!!! Also my boss is on trial and i feel like it's not going well and I am getting the brunt of it and than he comes back to the office at 5 when i leave in 1/2 and now tells me he wants me to start staying till 6 when I can barely sit here all day! Re: For those ladies working...

I don't want to quit. I like my job.

Sometimes I wish I could have a 3 day weekend more often.

I don't have the stamina to do all the cleaning and laundry on the weekends like I used to, and I return to work on Monday just as exhausted as when I left on Friday.

Re: For those ladies working...

Every day , for about 3 years( working for the same place for 9 ) I have wanted to quit, it has gotten worse in the past few months and i am counting my days until I have maternity leave ( 80 ) and wish I never had to come back here. That being said, the work itself isn't bad, its the people I work with that make it intolerable.

Re: For those ladies working...

I'm not totally uncomfortable and I'm lucky that i have a nice cushy chair at my desk with a footstool. When my back starts to hurt, I get up and stretch/walk around.

The worst part for me is the drive. It takes 30-35 minutes in the morning and about 35-40 minutes at 5pm. I still get sick while I'm driving and sometimes the sun gives me a pounding headache. I'd say 3 out of 5 days a week I find myself screeching, "WHYYY AM I STILL DOING THIS?!?!"

eta: They seem to have an aversion to the a/c in this office sometimes. It gets REALLY warm in here. I bought a personal fan for my desk and I'm a lot happier Chat Icon

I agree...I'm so uncomfortable at my desk too. Grateful I have a job though. Wish maternity leave can start whenever you were ready to stop working.

I have 24 days left...Totally thought I could work til my EDD, but it is just so physically hard now with the extreme swelling. Friday will be my last day in the office, but I will be working remotely til he pops out!

Re: For those ladies working...

Working stinks... I'm all for the good 'ol days, but hey whatever a few people wanted something and now we all get to suffer - LOL.

Anyway, I tell DH constantly that as much as I worked till the last moment with DD, I don't even think I'll make it to my c-section at 39 weeks... I think this one's going to come early - I'm MUCH more uncomfortable.

Re: For those ladies working...

I am just all out too tired! I am still on my feet for most of the day, and the few chances I get to sit down I'm instantly unconcious. I get tired of hiking across the building to the bathroom every two seconds...tired of people asking "is it time yet? ready to have that baby any day now huh?"
My hips hurt, my feet swell, I get tired of people laughing at me when I pull snacks out of my purse (who doesnt carry a bowl of cherries in their purse?!)

Re: For those ladies working...

Yes! Some days when people ask for something I want to say, "No, I can't I'm pregnant." But I realize that is not a good excuse. I just have my little baby on the brain and can care less about my job.

92 more days to go!!!!!

Yes, I am 34 weeks and so exhausted by the end of the day. My back aches, my feet hurt and I can't wait to go home. It's partly my own fault because I stay on my feet too much. I have to watch it or else I'm going to pay for it sooner or later.

Re: For those ladies working...

after going back to work today after vacation, I could definately just stay at home. My carpal tunnel is getting bad that I completely forgot how horrible it was to write. I was in agony all day. I planning on working until the bitter end but now I am rethinking it. I might take a week before my due date to just veg!
