Re: For those of us NOT finished with 50 Shades of Grey....
I'm almost done with Book 2 I have put reality behind and have descended into the fantasy realm because of several reasons...
1. If Christian bought me an Audi R8 because it was "Safe" i would take it in a heartbeat and have thank you sex with him until my vagina fell off. 2. in the beginning i wished i could have that many O's in one night but then i rethought the situation and decided i wanted to be able to sit down the next day... 3. anyone who makes $100,000.00 per hour is A-OK in my book! 4. If you really really woould rather i stay home instead of going to work, while you support me and buy me anything i need, i think i can make the sacrifice and give it a try 5. what was that? you want to buy me a house off the Coast so that we can start our lives together? I'll to
This book is completely unrealistic and very poorly written but it has now become to me like a heroin addict looking for his next hit.

Re: For those of us NOT finished with 50 Shades of Grey....
I read the first book.I enjoyed that it was a quick read (read it in a day in the little time I get to read) since I've been reading some real slogs lately.
I'm sort of ambivalent. The writing SUCKS. OMG.
How many times is CG going to "press his lips into a hard line" ?! WTF. And I noticed some spelling and word usage errors. Hello EDITOR
I did find some of the sex scenes hot, but I'm still on the fence because I find it really scary. Just like with Bella Swan, I can't put myself in the position of a wimp with NO self esteem, so she annoys the shit out of me.
Also, like the Twilight, I just don't buy this whole chemical attraction for no reason thing
I find his whole BDSM thing kind of scary. I can't get too aroused with all of the fear, but I am interested in the background and why he is the way he is, so I probably will read books 2 and 3

No its not you. There's a few times I read things and was like- WOW this is probably the worst editing job I have EVER seen in a widely published work.
That being said- I still enjoyed the story

Oh and don't forget "her inner goddess"!
By the 3rd book I was so over all the sex parts and skipped right past it.

Her kidneys should be shutting down about now for all the uti's.
And I googled and the characters "murmur" to each other 199 times!!!! That's insane, how does she have no other word for murmur?

Lol, my sister texted me when she was reading these books. She said the "inner goddess" was the most annoying part of the whole book.

Re: For those of us NOT finished with 50 Shades of Grey....
I downloaded the first book and read it in a week. I have ZERO desire to go further if what you all say is true about book 2 and 3.
I can't stand the same lines over and over and the writing is crap. The sex scenes are the same with different props?
He scares the crap out of me and she annoys the sh!t out of me.

Books 2 & 3 focus more on developing the relationships between a lot of the characters and digging deeper into the character of Christian. Plus there are not as many sex scenes in the two other books. If you have read the first you may as well read the other 2 just to get a complete story.

Re: For those of us NOT finished with 50 Shades of Grey....
I originally downloaded the sample on my kindle, but I couldn't get into. My friends all kept telling me how good it was, so I caved in and downloaded the whole thing. I really cannot stand it so far. It drags SO much. Also, if I hear the words " inner goddess, my subconscious, oh my , my sex and holy hell again I will burn the book ! I understand this isn't a great work of literature, but couldn't she have used a thesaurus??!! I also found the scene where he takes her tampon out to have sex to be pretty gross. I don't think I'd spend money on books 2 and 3.

It's already irritating me. The characters are so obvioulsy Twilight it's ridiculous. That bothers me. I know it's based on fan fiction but if you planned to publish a novel, at least make up your own characters.
And so far, he does creep me out. Him and his cables.

Re: For those of us NOT finished with 50 Shades of Grey....
His physical description is exactly what I like but I never would have made it through a first date with such a stuck-up guy even if he was hotness incorporated. I feel like telling her to try online dating instead. Money isn't everything and it will never make up for someone wanting to control a person and having a lot of demons. I have read spoilers for all 3 books but I am only halfway through the first. I think I will finish this one but I don't know if I will read all 3.

Re: For those of us NOT finished with 50 Shades of Grey....
I just started the other day. I am not a huge reader and this book I can tolerate but am skipping over the repeated stuff. I can tell why this is not well written. Why are the same expressions used over and over. It's not very realistic but it's an ok read. At least i didn't pay for it I am only in the first book maybe about chap 7. All well, I started, now I will finish
