For those of you in your 30's and get the "You're so young to have kids" comments...
This bothers you because......?
I LOVE when I get those comments! I don't get them enough and it makes me sad!!!!

Doesnt bother me the least bit...
Especially when my daughter comes home from school and points out to me that she has the youngest Mommy in her class...
But truth is it doesnt make my uncoming birthday any easier to swallow though...
PS..Ive got one year on you...

I'm not in my 30's but I get it alllll the time!
My aunt told my 26 year old sister to move back to Boston b/c there wasn't so much pressure to get married and have kids "so young like Kate did"

I don't think people complain about being perceived as young. It's just the way it is said and from complete strangers.

ah...who cares! I am 40...we cannot be 20 forever! and its all in the mind! and in my case ..you eventually have to get older to have 4 kids.
Its a state of mind!
the one that will go down the banzai with the kids, run in rain with them, dress up for Halloween and all that!
thats alllllllllllll that counts!

ah! I actually misunderstood the post...
I will tell you this..i was told 2 verrrrrrrry rude things,
One..we have no busing.
A "friend" in town told me.."wow" when u r on line to get them u will be in line with girls in their ealry twenties.
I was like really? so they had their kids at like 15? hmmmmmmmmmm
the other comment...no comment...I doon't care either! we alllllll have to get old no avoiding it!
theres alot of things i want to be called!

It does bother me because I've always looked young and I think people treat me differently because of it. Sometimes not taking me seriously, not thinking my opinion matters....
So when people comment on my being young in terms of me being a mother, I assume they mean I'm too young to be able to handle it and I think that's rude. Especially because they have no idea how young or old I am, and it's really none of their business.
(This is a sore subject with me...sorry)

Ugh it annoys me. I went to a holiday party tonight at a CATERING HALL and was carded. Even after I said I was 32 with 2 kids (who would lie about THAT!)

Yes, I have this same problem. Even IF I were "young" who cares? I'm responsible, take care of my kids, have a job, etc. I know exactly how you feel

I purchased a bottle of wine and had my 16yr old with me. I was proofed! I literally told the clerk that I wanted to hug her! (She looked very, very scared!)
I love being told I look young to have teenagers..... and even, to be the mom of my 7yr old. However, when people see me with my 3 mo. old, I have not yet heard that same thing!

the hard part is in your 20's is when people think there is something wrong and that is why you got pregnant. that is the hard part. I wish people were just happy!! Liza look at the post i made of the kids

I tend to look around me at times with what must be a look of astonishment, awe, and wonder on my face...The kids will be running around, they'll be something cooking in the oven, the vacuum cleaner going, etc...and I think to myself....
"WHEN THE H E L L DID THIS HAPPEN?!!!!"
I used to count the minutes to the weekend so I could go out and party until dawn. Now I count the minutes until Monday morning so I can send everyone off to school/work....

When I had my first appt. with the doctor who will be delivering my baby, she said, "Wow! You parents keep getting younger and younger!" and I was kind of offended, because I am 30, DH 32, we've been married nearly 5 years, this pregnancy was totally planned and welcomed, and I kind of felt like it implied that I was unprepared for motherhood or like I was a child bride/pregnant teen. I just said "Oh, after not touching up my roots for the first trimester I'm sure I'll be looking much older."

I does not bother me really, but I hate that people have pre-concieved notions of what a mother should be (age, health, etc).
I love that people call me young though. I cannot wear makeup during this PG too long (I rash) and so many people have approached me to tell me that I *look* too young to be having 2 kids. OK, I'll take it!

Oh and I just thought of this one...on black friday my sister and I were in line at the outlets. A woman said to me "does your mom know you are out here doing this" She was nice enough and meant well but I told her I was MUCH older than I look

Im not in my 30's, and get the "you look so young" and better yet the "you are soo young" comments all the time.
I love that I look young... I hope that trait stays with me forever...
However it does bother me, when Im told Im too young... I hate being judged on my age; since it has no effect on the type of parent I am.
I am proud to say I had my son at 21 yrs of age. I accomplished MORE at that point of my life, then most have done by age 35. Im very proud, never ashamed!
