Ponds with young kids
Do any of you have a fence around your pond? We want to put a fence around around our pond for a few years. Does anyone have pictures and ideas?? Thanks

Re: Ponds with young kids
My parents have 2 ponds in their back yard and I am not happy about my son being around them when I go to visit them next, I am going to suggest that for the time being they put chicken wire over the top. My husband fell into ap ond once and has never really gotten over it!! I am a really easy going mother in terms of safety, but ponds make me nervous as does drowning in general....

We just put one in and for now will be doing nothing. When he gets older we might put wire over the top but not until he is a lot older. He will not be alone in the backyard for many many years.

Re: Ponds with young kids
I have a pondless pond. The water flows into rocks instead of a pool of water. I didn't think it would be pretty but it really looks nice. Now I don't have to think twice about my DD running around by it.

Re: Ponds with young kids
Thanks. The pondless pond sounds nice to me, but we have fish in it. So that won't work. I will never leave my son in the yard alone either, but the fish are always attracting him over there and I would like some kind of fencing as extra protection. With two young children, just being in the yard is not good enough.
