For those of you who used pack and plays w/ bassinets...
did the baby just sleep on the bassinet or did you put down some sort of matress or something to give more support? TIA!!

The bassinet came with a stiff cusion. I put a sheet on that & used it as a bassinet for naps.

I just used the mattress that came with it at first but DD didn't really sleep that well (we used it when we went away) so I bought a portacrib mattress to put in it and I put a cut-to-fit mattress pad with a portacrib sheet. I think it just makes it more comfy for them. The mattress fits perfectly in there! Now she sleeps in there just like she's at home.

The mat that goes on the bottom of the play pen goes in the bassinett while you are using it as a bassinett. On mine there is velcro on the bottom of the mat as well as on the bassinett area.
It's the piece that folds around the whole thing when it is folded up...
