For those pregnant with #2....How long
did you wait to get pregnant again after your first was born? I want to have them boom boom boom and everyone keeps telling me how hard it will be when they are so close in age...but I thought it would be nice if they were close in age. They would both be in and out of diapers and school around the same time as each other. I don't know, what are your feelings on this issue? Everyone is saying I should wait until this baby is as least 2...

Re: For those pregnant with #2....How long
My 2 kids are almost 7 years apart. I cant give you an opinion on having them close together, but i can say is its your decision. Every woman/family is different and has different circumstances. Some people dont know when to keep their opinions quiet. Do i think it will be a lot of work, yep, but my brothers and sister (im one of 4) are 4 under 5 years, and we are all close. So each situation has their pros and cons, you just have to decide what will work best for you and your family, but you may not know what that is until your first is born.

Re: For those pregnant with #2....How long
My DS will be 1 in Nov and Nov is also my EDD for DC #2. I agree with you that having them close in age would be nice. I think (IMO) it will be easier to have a continuous flow of bottles/diapers & sleepless nights.

We started to try again when ds was turning 3, but it took us almost 2 years to become pregnant.

This is actually the biggest reason I think I would like to start trying again right away. I am 31 now, and honestly we did not think we would get pregnant the first month we tried. I feel thankful everyday because I have best friends who had to go through horrible heart breaking experiences to finally get their baby. I feel like the longer I wait to have another child, the harder it might get to have one

We started when DD was almost 2. She will be 2 1/2 when DS arrives. Anything closer then that I don't think I could handle.

we started when my little one was 4 months old, so my kids will be 14 months apart and this is what we wanted and will do with all the next kids.

Only you will know what's best for you but I think you will know more after the baby arrives.
I already plan on waiting at least 3 years to start trying for #2. I only want 2 kids and I want them far apart.

Re: For those pregnant with #2....How long
We got PG with #2 when DD#1 was a year old... they are 20 months apart...
Is it easy? No, of course not but it won't be easy when the older one is 3 either... I wanted them close in age and I'm so glad I did it.

Who cares what everyone else says? Do what you want! My son will be a little over 2 when the next one is born. I think it will be nice to have them close in age.

Re: For those pregnant with #2....How long
well...considering my #2 AND #3 were not planned nor even a If it happens situation....
#1 & #2 are 17.5 mths apart #2 and #3 will be 15 months apart
and while it IS hard, it's also so great. They are built in playmates now. One child looks for the other one when they wake up. DS crawls around after his big sister. DD will tell me to wak him up so she can play with him. If we tell her we are going out, she makes sure that brother is coming too.
She's a good helper when I ask as well and while at times I do feel guilty because she often gets "not now, I have to do _____ for brother (feed him, put him down for a nap, etc). I make sure to do special things with her alone too. I take her out to the store, DH takes her out (and he ALWAYS buys her something).
Our PLAN was to wait till #1 was out of diapers to try for #2 and #3 was out of the question once we knew #2 was a boy BUT......everything happens for a reason.

Re: For those pregnant with #2....How long
I am only on #1, but hope to be pregnant with #2 before DC #1's first birthday. I have always wanted my kids close together in age, and because DH and I want to have 4 and I'm not getting any younger (will be 29 when I deliver #1) we hope that this works out for us.
Do what is right for you and your family - not everyone else!

Re: For those pregnant with #2....How long
My DS was born Oct. 5th and my Due date is Oct. 30th so my DC with be about 13 months apart. We started trying right away and I am excited to have them close together. I know in the beginning it will not be easy, but I think that as they get older it is going to be great.

We started ttc just before DD turned 3. We might have tried sooner, if she was an easier toddler..

Re: For those pregnant with #2....How long
We want our kids close in age, but we had a hard time getting pregnant with this one so I'm not sure what's in the cards for us. I don't plan on using BC so hopefully it will happen for us, but if we end up needing a FET we will probably wait until DS is a year old. People are so clueless, you have to do what you want. I was 18 months older then my brother and it was great growing up so close in age.

Re: For those pregnant with #2....How long
DD was 9 months old when I get pregnant with DS. It took us a long time to conceive DD so we started trying for #2 early not thinking it would happen on the first try.
We are happy they are going to be so close. I'm sure it will be difficult, but honestly there are pros and cons to having them closer or not. It's totally a personal decision.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Same here. mine are 2 years apart, almost to the day. I got PG with #2 when #1 was 15 months old.
