For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart
Do you feel like the odd one out? I feel like everyone around me has children that are less than 3 yrs apart. In the mommy & me classes I go to everyone that has a child DD's age is either pg or has an infant or has children just a couple of yrs older. Please tell me I'm not the last one on earth that is not jumping on the 2 under 2 bandwagon!

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart
You're not the only one. I wanted my kinds to be 2.5 to three years apart. We got married when DD was 2 so the smallest age gap would've been 3 years. We're TTC now, but we'll have an age gap somewhere around 3.5 years at this point.

I am waiting. I know personally I can't handle 2 under 2.

Nope, you're not alone. Our plan was to have our DC just about 2 years apart (not necessarily stuck on the 2 under 2 thing), but you know what God does when you make a plan...

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart
Everyone is different. My mother was almost a member of the 2 under 1 club (my brother and I are a year and two weeks apart-he was a surprise though), but then didn't have my other brother for another 6 years, so there's a huge age gap. DH's sisters are 4,7 and 10 years younger than him. Do what works best for you!

Andrew and his future sibling will be 3 yrs apart. I am a little upset about the age difference but it just hasn't been the right time for another yet.

You're definitely not the only one. We're planning on 3 yrs apart and I too often feel like the only one. so many people are having them close together but I just didn't feel like I wanted to start over again that soon.

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart
Are you one of the younger moms in your class? I think some of it may have to do with the fact that a lot of folks are starting their family's later in life and don't have the time to have two or three kids each 3 or 4 years apart. I was 34 when I had DD and would like to be a member of the 2 under 2 club-we'll start TTC late summer. If I was younger, I might wait a little longer.

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart
I was planning on having mine three years apart (for me that is PERFECT!) but since I had a miscarriage it seems they are going to be closer to 3.5 years apart (at least I hope!) and I think that is still ok. its going to be harder to go back to the baby stage, but I think as they get older financially it will be a little easier.

we are shooting to get pregnant with #2, when DS is around 2, so they would be 2-3 years apart

If we have another, the age gap would be 3-5 years apart.

Mine will be exactly 2 yrs & 7 months apart. I wanted them close to 3 years apart. My brother and I were 3 years apart and I always loved that time span

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart
I wanted my children close together, but because of infertility issues ended up with children 3.5 yrs apart. I love it. My 4 yr old is so independent and he loves his bay sister. The only thing is he does not have a built in playmate.....but that is what the neighbors kids are for

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart
DD#1 and DD#2(coming 4/18) will be 7 years apart, we planned on 2 1/2 maybe 3 years apart, but it just did not work out that way due to infertility issues(4 m/c's) I just think whatever happens you are just lucky to have another child.

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart
We are hoping for a little over 3 years apart. Mostly because of personal reasons and partly because of space. We have no room for a 2nd child right now.
I have noticed most of my friends and family members have kids closer in age but it doesn't bother me that ours won't be. A lot of mommies in DD's room at daycare are pregnant and I don't envy them at all. I'm not there yet.

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart
My sons are a little bit over 3 yrs apart and I think it's the perfect age difference. I really don't think I would be able to handle two kids that were closer in age. If we go for a 3rd, I definitely want to wait 3-4 yrs. Seeing other moms in my son's class and activities, it seems like the average age difference between each kid is 3 yrs.
A good friend of my DH's has 4 kids and they are all 1 yr apart!! Give or take a couple of months. I don't know how they do it, especially since the dad is going for his MBA after work right now.

I don't think I could have handled them being so close in age. I really wasn't ready. My kids will be 3 years apart...just the way I planned it.

Re: For those that plan on/have separating DC 3 or more years apart
You are not the only one AT ALL!!
Looks like we will be having our second children around the same time as our first! How terrific!!
Even though I am having major baby fever now (I posted yesterday about it) I know that I will not have one sooner than 3 years between them. Its what I have always wanted and hopefully, thats the way it will work out!
