Re: For those that plan to return to work after maternity leave, what do you plan to do with your child?
I wish I could say that I had family volunteering to help out, but that's not the case.
Both DD and DS will be in daycare

Re: For those that plan to return to work after maternity leave, what do you plan to do with your child?
My husband has a rotating schedule so there really is only 1 week out of the month where we're both working days. Otherwise there may be an hour here or there in which we'll need someone to watch the baby.
Luckily my in-laws said they'd watch the baby whenever we needed, but we'll see how it goes. We don't want to overwhelm them either.

Ideally I would like to take six months maternity leave (my company allows for up to a year) however when I do return to work, regardless of how long I am able to take, the baby will most likely be going to daycare.

I am going back to work 2 months after the baby is born. We found a family child care center that I like and hopefully that will work out for us!

I will be staying home for 9 months and then I will have to work out some sort of daycare. I am very nervous about it. DH's parents live far (upstate) and my parents work. I wish I have someone reliable to watch the baby!

We have had her enrolled in day care for almost 5 weeks - talk about planing ahead.
If that doesn't work, we are going to have her live with Matt Foley in a van down by the river:

When the baby is 3 months old and I have to go back to work, DH and I will work opposite tours so that one of us is always home with our kid. There may be an hour or two lapse when I am coming home from work and DH has to travel to work... so we will hopefully have one of our family members watch the baby for that short time frame.

Re: For those that plan to return to work after maternity leave, what do you plan to do with your child?
My sister is quitting her 9-5 to go back to nursing school this summer (nights) and I am so lucky because DH and I can pay her a reasonable amount to look after out little one for about 4-5 hours a day. It helps her, it helps us...lucky all around.

Re: For those that plan to return to work after maternity leave, what do you plan to do with your child?
After was born I had to go back to work FT. I had to put into daycare at 3 1/2 months. It was really difficult and she got sick ALOT, but now at 17 months she really enjoys it. I think the first few months are hard because they can't really socialize at such a young age.
I started considering a nanny with 2 only because it's easier on me, but my DH wants to try daycare for both and see how it goes. He feels that DD is a very well rounded girl and that daycare had something to do with it.
So will also go into daycare between 3 - 4 months.
