Re: for those that water broke on it's own..

I always say that mine broke like it breaks in the movies lol I went to the bathroom & felt/heard what sounded like a pop (weird, I know) so I thought that I was losing my plug. A few minutes later I had a BIG gush in the other room & thought that I had wet myself. I continued to leak & have subsequent big gushes for a few hours afterwards. At first I honestly thought that I had peed myself, but the constant non-stop trickling was a clue...I also made my DH come into the bathroom to check it for his opinion of what was going on
In the end I wound up losing so much water that I needed what they called an "amnio infusion" during labor...it was basically just another IV bag to, from what I understand, add more water to the sac during labor.
LOL - This almost exactly (including calling DH into the bathroom )! I was 8 days late though.

Re: for those that water broke on it's own..
I was laying in bed when it happened. I actually thought it was just some discharge at first, since I felt it when I turned over. Then it felt like it wasn't stopping so I got up and went to the bathroom and sure enough I was leaking all over my bath mat. I called the doctor right away and went straight to the hospital. I ended up giving birth 10 hours later.

Re: for those that water broke on it's own..
I was laying in bed and thought did I just piddle..?? I stood up as fast as a woman 30 weeks pregnant with twins could stand up and didn't get much in the bed. it just fell/gushed out. I was never more thankful for always infinity pads for that trip to the hospital. Twin A was born 12 hours later twin B 12 hrs 4 min later.

Re: for those that water broke on it's own..
Mine broke in the middle of the night. I woke up and felt this weird feeling, kind of like (sorry, TMI) when I have my period and feel a gush coming on. I stood up and was about to go to the bathroom when iit came. It was a gush but I was able to get to the bathroom before it hit the floor.
I left for the hospital within an hour or so as DS was breech and they said I would need a C-section. I had been scheduled to try to turn him about 3 days later but since my water broke, there was no chance of that.
The gushing continued the the whole way to the hospital and while I waited for the section. I kept feeling like I was wetting my pants over and over.
It was about 5 hours from the time my water broke until DS was born but of course, I have no idea how long it would have been if he hadn't been breech and I'd had him naturally. I was having contractions that were getting worse the whole time.

Re: for those that water broke on it's own..
I woke up to use the bathroom around 2am and when I crawled back in bed, I felt a pop and just knew it was my water breaking. I don't know why but I had a feeling for a while that it would happen in bed. I popped right up,woke DH and told him that either I just peed myself or my water broke. I made my way to the bathroom and my water continued to gush/continuously leak into the bowl. I called my mom & OB from the throne
My OB told me to make my way in. DH asked if this was really it, could we be sent home. I told him NO this is it, there's no going home
I wasn't able to do much bc of the constant gushing so I hopped in the shower, rinsed off, put on my big undies and stuffed a hand towel in my pants then waddled around the house to collect my things. It felt like forever but we made it to the hospital around 4am.
ETA: I had some contractions on the way to the hospital but they weren't strong and were over 5 min. apart.
My water continued to leak/gush for the next 30 hours until DD was born via C-section. I remember telling the nurse I was sorry for getting the operating table all wet. She laughed and said don't worry about it lol. I did not progress past 3cm. My OB knew I really wanted a v-birth so he let me go as long as he could but the risk of infection was increasing.
Good luck!!

Re: for those that water broke on it's own..
When my water broke I felt a little trickle run down my legs. I called my dr and she told me that I could either come in to the hospital or labor at home. Since I didn't have any contractions, I told her that I will slowly get ready and head to the hospital. I took a shower, blow dried my hair and took my time getting ready. The contractions started appx. 1/2 hour after my water broke and I didn't get to the hospital until 2 1/2 hours later. As the contractions got more frequent and intense, the water started gushing out more and more. I gave birth 7 hours later, but everyone is different...my advice would be for you to get to the hospital asap if your water broke.

Re: for those that water broke on it's own..
Gush after gush after gush for hours on end. I was the grossest feeling ever!
I went to the hospital about an hour after it started. I was in no rush and DH was working in the yard so he wanted to shower first.
I did not deliver for another 32 hours.

Re: for those that water broke on it's own..
I heard a loud pop and then my water started gushing in waves. It almost landed on DS's head
Not even 2 hours later DD was born. She came pretty quick, and it was all a big blur.
