For those who did not gain weight yet by 20 weeks....
When did you start gaining and how much?
I just wonder, when will I start seeing weight come on? I am still not very hungry, but I eat enough to survive (used to live to eat!). I see myself losing weight in other body areas, but the belly is growing. Prior to being pg, I have always been in my recommended weight range. Right before pg, I was maybe about 10 lbs technically over what I "should" be.
My Dr said he's not concerned and that he has had patients gain 10 lbs and have a 8 lb baby. And my level 2 showed baby is on target at 13 oz right now.
But I just wonder, will it just show up all of a sudden? I would love to hear from those of you in this boat.

Re: For those who did not gain weight yet by 20 weeks....
I believe by 19 weeks I gained something like 3 lbs...
At 29 weeks, I gained a total of 11.... still not a huge amount (and it really is 6 since I lost 5 in the first trimester).
I am going to the Dr tomorrow and will have my 31.5 week weigh-in. I noticed in the last couple weeks that I AM more hungry now.... I snack a bit more than before....
however, my meals are also smaller... so maybe I'm still pretty much breaking even
not everyone gains a lot.... I read online that the baby + placenta + all of the blood / fluids weigh a total of approx 19-22 lbs... so as long as we gain that much by 40 weeks, we're fine.....

Thanks for your reply.
I know, my dr did say he has pts who gain 10lbs and have an 8 lb baby. So he is not worried, but I just find it so odd. And it does make me think for a second, is the baby getting enough nutrition?

Re: For those who did not gain weight yet by 20 weeks....
I think I gained all of 7lbs after the second trimester. I gained all my weight the last month and a half, 10lbs. I lost all 17lbs though within the first month after the baby was born. I am heavy to begin with though so it was easier for me to lose it but was so concious not to gain too much. All was fine with the baby and she is and I are doing well! Good luck and enjoy!

I didn't gain any weight up until my 20 week appointment...my doctor wasn't overly concerned, though he wanted to "talk" about it if I continued to not gain weight...with my first, I was still down 7lbs at my 20 week appointment and he didn't mention anything...btw, with my first I gained 18lbs and had a 6lb baby and she was healthy!

Re: For those who did not gain weight yet by 20 weeks....
at 16 I still had not gained any weight. By 18. weeks I was up 2 pounds. BY twenty weeks, I was up a little under six I think pounds. By 24 week. I was up a total of ten pounds. Now at 28 weeks, I still am up ten pounds. I did not gain anything between weeks 24 and 28, but my belly grew 3.5 centimeters.
