For those who have AT&T service for your cell phone, re: DATA

My husband and I each have 2GB of data on our phones. I use my phone much more then him and he is constantly by mid month of the cycle getting an alert that he's 65% used up for example and by the time the billing cycle is about to end he's "supposedly" used up all data and an additional $10.00 for another 1GB gets added onto our bill. This does occasionally happen on my phone too, yet I literally use my phone all the time and he rarely does.

I think it's all a crock of sh-- and I know I have to call AT&T but wondering if this happens to others. Can someone explain to me what exactly even uses up your data minutes?

You have apps that in the background without you doing anything connects to the internet and downloads/checks for stuff. Soundcloud and other apps if not close completely will continue to use Data. You can change the frequency of some things like emails being check, facebook notifications, etc.. playing videos, music on the phone will eat at your data, online games that constanting get add's will use data as well. I would say avg person uses 2 gigs. Make sure to connect to wifi when available.
