For those who have been or are planning to go to Disney in December...
How is the weather in early December? What are the best holiday attractions?
I know of Osbourne Lights at Hollywood studios but that is about it. We will probably not be getting tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party because our kids start getting ready for bed around 7, which is when the party starts.
What were your favorite shows and parades?
3yo DS loved the shows more than the rides the last time we were there in late April.

Really not much else going on aside from the christmas party. It is so worth it for the one night. They have everything. Can you change their bed time for one night? They have a lot for the kids and the parade is not to be missed. We took DS last year, he was 26 months old. I napped him later in the day so he would be good for the night stuff. He LOVED it!!!!
Epcot has stuff, but it is mainly at night too.. That i when they turn on all the lights and have parades and the candlelight processional...
The weather was perfect too. We had daytime temps in the upper 70's, low 80's. And the evening was in the 50-60 degree range.

Re: For those who have been or are planning to go to Disney in December...
WE went 2 Decembers ago and hit unseasonal cold weather. Talking 30-40's. At night it was freezing. Started day in hoodies and jeans and long sleeve shirts and ended in winter coats, hats, gloves, etc. No pool time there! They said it is never that cold in December. The day before we got there I heard it was in the 70's!!!
We have been like 5 times now and my kids are more ride kids. Shows that are enjoyed: Lion King show in Animal Kingdom, fantasmic in MK (we never did that til this trip and the kids wanted it twice), Playhouse Disney (silly but my little ones love it still), muppets, bugs life, the boys (older 5 and 7) liked Indianna Jones this year (although way too hot in August had to leave with my 1 yr old), turtle time with crush in Epcot. The best yet - my kids went on stage for Jedi Training. If your kids are between 4 and 12 - and like Star Wars this was a kids dream come true to fight Darth Vadar!!!! As for parades we often avoid them - as I hate the crowd and whatever. We did like the parade in Animal Kingdom best and of course the night time lights one is awesome. WE did teh Epcot firework light show - but three overtired kids and fireworks not good. My youngest 2 were scared of the noise.

Does Magic Kingdom kick you out if you do not have tickets to the Mickey Christmas party?

Yes they do kick you out if you don't have tickets to the party. December is hit or miss. It can be HOT or freezing. We went last week in November last year and it was HOT!

December was great for us. Other than the Osburne lights, we liked looking at the decorations at the monorail hotels as well as Boardwalk (I think it was that or Beach Club or maybe both lol)

Our trips probably overlapped. We were there Dec10-15, 2010. It was 70 degrees the first day and then like hte PP said, COLD the rest of the time. I mean we had winter attire on the whole time.
We didnt do the christmas party either. We LOVED the osbourne spectacle of lights it was wonderful! All the decor in the parks and hotels was above and beyond my expectations! It was beautiful.
My DS loved Mickeys Philharmonic in MK, Bugs Life in AK and there are alot of shows in HS.
Its totally worth it to go in Dec for the decorations but the weather it totally unpredictable. I have heard people going when its 70, 30 degrees and anywhere in between. Luckily my son was pretty unaffected, he still stayed in the parks for all the firework shows without complaining at all! But my BIL's kids hated the cold adn were not happy campers!
