For those who have more than one child of the same sex...and not twins or multiples...lol
Or did you buy new sets for each kid?
I was team for DD #1 and now that I am preggo with #2 we found out this time and are having another girl.
DD #1's bedding is neutral. She will be in a toddler bed soon, so DH thinks we should reuse the crib bedding for DD #2. The set would look fine in DD #2's room, it will even match the paint color.
I totally see why we shouldn't spend the extra money on another set, but I really want to do a girly room this time.
DD #1's room is cute, but since the bedding is neutral it kind of sets a tone for the whole room.
WWYD??

My older son moved into his "big boy bed" and my little son got his brothers stuff. When my baby is older, he can have his own stuff and design but for a newborn, who cares?

My older one was still in a crib when DS2 was born so I got all new stuff. Now that only DS2 is in a crib, I am mixing and matching the sheets

they're sharing a room, so i kept the bumpers, crib skirt and a sheet in the crib, and have the comforter and a sheet on the toddler bed. worked out perfectly!

I did get new bedding. I justified it by the idea that DD#2 was going to be re-using all DD#1's old stuff -- stroller, carseat, bassinet, cradle, furniture, clothes, etc. The LEAST she could get was her own bedding set. and I SPLURGED on it!!

We didn't get new bedding. I was for both. We used one room as the nursery though and moved my older DD to her big girl room right before DD#2 was born.
I think if I was putting DD#2 into a different room and I knew the gender, I definitely would have chosen new bedding. It just didn't make sense in our circumstances since we weren't finding out and the nursery was decorated around the neutral bedding we chose.

We just re- used the original bedding. honestly, we didn't even do the whole bedding set for our 2nd and 3rd DD since the majority of the bedding sets aren't safe to have in the crib with your baby, they're just more for show. So what we did was spent the money we would have on a bedding set for the cute sheets and other matching things around the room that we need and that can be used.

I didn't buy #2 a new bedding set, but I only used a sheet for him (and later a knitted blanket)...I saw no need for the bumper or quilt.

I didn't use crib bedding, but if I did I would have reused the set for DD2.

we are team for both.
So my son who's 3 is moving into a Big Boy Room and baby#2 will go right into his nursery/crib as is.

Thanks everyone for the replies!
I can't believe how dead even this poll is...lol
Well, I decided that DH is right and we really don't need to spend the extra cash on another set. DD #1, will get a set since she is moving into a toddler bed anyway. So since I have to purchase a few pieces for her, it really doesn't make sense for the crib set to go to waste.
It really is a nice set.
Thanks again!!

Re: For those who have more than one child of the same sex...and not twins or multiples...lol
my girls are 23 months apart. some items needed replacing and for those i picked out girly items. DD2 got DD1's nursery so i had it decorated where either neutral or girly would match. slowly i've phased out all the neutral stuff.
i couldn't throw way things that were in good shape. plus, it was nice to get DD2 new things after she passed the phase where she could mess them up with spit up, etc. i feel like i was also able to get her things that match her personality better too.

Sheets, no but set, yes. We were for both. For #1 I did very neutral and added boy accents when he was born; for #2 I bought both a girl and a boy set and returned the girl set when he was born.
#1 was a PUKER - like bad, allllllllllll the time. I didn't want to put a newborn on that stuff. I'm not sure if I would have felt differently if #1 was not quite so gross but that wasn't our situation.

When I think about how much I actually used the "bedding set" not only would I not buy a new one for ds2 but I would have never bought the original in the first place, lol.

I actually used the crib bedding for all 3 kids (2 girls 1 boy) it was a neutral Winnie the Pooh bedding.
When they switched to twin beds, of course they got their own bedding.

I may be one of the only people that actually uses the entire bedding set. Right now they are both using it.
DD has the blanket from it. Ds has the bumpers and bed skirt. it's a neutral winnie the pooh theme.

Yes my boys are 7 1/2 years apart. All the stuff I had for DS1 was given away or tossed out. I didn't buy it though, it was a gift at the shower for DS2

Re: For those who have more than one child of the same sex...and not twins or multiples...lol
Yes - I bought new for a couple reasons:
-DD#1 was still in her crib (converted) - For DD#1 we were team green and the bedding was neutral, we found out the sex for #2 and I wanted it to be girly.
I got DD#2's bedding at babybedding.com - they sell everything a la carte so I didn't wind up with stuff I didnt need.

Same here.
It actually saddened me to get rid of DD's old crib set. I so badly wanted to reuse it! I loved that set too.
