If you are having the opposite sex for your 2nd child
Are you registering again? Is anyone throwing you a "sprinkle"? Is it considered rude if we register again? And not for the "big" items but smaller things.

Re: If you are having the opposite sex for your 2nd child
I had DS in 2007 and just had DD 6 weeks ago. I registered for myself, so that I would get the completion coupons and the sign up bonuses. I did not tell anyone that I registered. I just used the list to gather in one place and remind myself of the things that I needed. My friends threw me a sprinkle. Last week my parents threw DD a welcome to the world party so our extended friends and family could meet her.
She got mostly clothing, which was exactly what we needed. We still have all of DSs stuff and are using it for her. In total I think we spent less than $500 replacing or getting stuff for her. Most of that money was for a new car seat as I had given DSs old car seat away.

I'm not buying anything except for clothes, and I am only changing the color of one wall of our nursery. She won't know she wore blue sleepsacks when she is a supermodel.

My mom said if I was having a boy she'd throw me a small "sprinkle" nothing like the magnitude of my shower. I don't know if I would register or not.

Re: If you are having the opposite sex for your 2nd child
I am planning on registered for myself, so that I can get the completion coupons and the sign up bonuses. I will not tell anyone that I registered. My IRL friends kinda s uck so I do not expect a sprinkle.
ETA - I don't know the sex yet, but I am doing this regardless of what it is.

Re: If you are having the opposite sex for your 2nd child
i registered again for myself and my family who wanted to buy me things. some friends bought me little things, but i didn't have a sprinkle because DS is only 16 months old. if he was 7 it would have been different. but i still have everything new and clean from him. i mainly wanted the 10% off

Re: If you are having the opposite sex for your 2nd child
I registered for the completion coupons and thats it. My mom and sisters want to throw me a sprinkle but I feel weird since my DD will only be 23 months when my DS is born. I asked them to discuss it with me first if they are still planning one because I want to make sure it is only really close family and no friends.

Re: If you are having the opposite sex for your 2nd child
I didn't register for this one and I didn't have a sprinkle (though my colleagues threw me a little shower).
But, I don't think there is anything wrong with doing either one.

Re: If you are having the opposite sex for your 2nd child
i did register again really for us though, so we can get the completion coupons. I will not be having a sprinkle but I know there are family members who want to get us something, so at least they have the registry to help.

I registered again but mostly to remind myself of the items that I wanted to get and to get the coupons. I am not telling anyone I am registered unless they ask.

Re: If you are having the opposite sex for your 2nd child
We are only registering for small things so I can get the 10% completion coupon. As far as I know I'm not having a sprinkle. I set up a registry but honestly I don't think there's anything on there yet
DS will be 18 months when DD comes so I am re-using everything of his.

Re: If you are having the opposite sex for your 2nd child
Regardless of the sex of this one, I am doing a small registry. I am just doing for the completion discount and a reference list of what I know I need. I need a few bigger items, stroller, highchair, bottles, and the discount will help.
