for those who have no idea how old their pets age
how do you handle it? i mean like a birthday and stuff like that? KWIM?

We don't know exactly how old Kasey is. When we got her we were told she was either 3 or 4 months old, they didn't have her specific birthdate. So I figured it was sometime in November or December. I thought about just picking a date during one of those months and using that as her b-day, but I kind of felt silly doing that. So we use her anniversary of her coming home to us, February 11, and "celebrate" that day instead.

The vet estimated that Annie was about 8 months old, which would make her born in February. We celebrate her birthday on Valentines Day.

when we rescued Nicky, the vet said he was about a year old....so since we got him at x-mas time, we will celebrate his b-day on the day we rescued him. Image Attachment(s):

when i got mystic a year ago they told me 3 to 5 years old and for crystal the same thing . so i really have no clue how old they really are .. maybe the date i got them is a good idea

we always celebrated my cat's b-day on her adoption date (we do this with our dog too - even though we know his birthdate)
We were told she was about 3 when we got her. we had her for 6 years, but they estimated her age at death to be 12!

When we rescued Barney, they told us that he was 5 or 6 yrs old. We got him the day after Christmas so that is when we celebrate his Birthday

When I adopted my cat she they said she was 14 weeks old which put her birthday at the beginning of August so I made her birthday Aug. 8th since my birthday is on the 8th also.

I did that with Hershey - made her birthday the 26th because mine is the 26th and 26 is also my favorite number! 
ETA: We made Max's birthday the day we brought him home.

My mom got her dog from LAP and they told her she was about 6 months old. So my mom went back 6 months and picked a date. For her, it was January and she chose the 6th, for little christmas.

For the cat I had growing up, we picked an arbitrary birthday based on the vet's guesstimation of her age. She was a kitten though, so it was easier to narrow it down.

i say their birthday is the day i adopted them. I'm not sure how old one of my dogs is cause the shelter said she was about 2-3 and the vet said she was around 1. so i say she's about 1 and a half almost 2 now.

i don't celebrate his birthday, i love my dog dearly he is def a member of the family and yes i call myself his mommy but i just never celebrated a pets birthday
