For those who live in Sayville

How long is your commute to work? The house we like is near Broadway Ave and we work on LI (Melville).

DH thinks the commute is going to be bad...especially in the summer on Sunrise.

I grew up in Sayville. I worked in Dix Hills for the last few years I worked there and it would take me half a hour. I'm a teacher though, and left very early in the am. I don't know how it is during regular rush hour.

I live close to there and DH used to work on 110 in Melville. His commute was about 40-50 minutes.

Well I've only been in my house for about 5 days, haha, but my husband commutes from Sayville to Bethpage. He goes up to the LIE though, and yes, traffic sucks. It takes him about an hour to get home. But Sayville is such an awesome town, I love it already!

Re: For those who live in Sayville

I live in Sayville and it takes me about 20 minutes to get from home to work (Hauppauge).

Traffic sometimes sucks. I leave early to get to work with minimal traffic - it's just fine around 6:30-7.

I agree that Sayville is such a wonderful place to live that it's worth the commute.

ETA: Fridays coming home kind of suck because of Hamptons traffic.. but that's the same for any town that you choose east of where you work!

Re: For those who live in Sayville

I live in Sayville and commute to East Meadow. I leave at 8:45-8:50 and get to work around 9:30 sometimes a little before. In the summer the commute is easier because school is out. I haven't noticed that the traffic home on a friday is more then usual in the summer. There are so many ways to get home from 110 that I wouldn't necessarily take the LIE.

My DH works in Seaford and he usually leaves at 8 to get to work by 9 and is usually there by 8:45. The time when the traffic really sucks in when it rains!

I live right off Broadway Avenue too! We would be neighbors.
