We have stayed at:
The Mirage
Excalibur
Ballys
Mandalay Bay
I really love Vegas and liked every hotel we stayed at, but if I was to pick which one I would return to, it would be Mirage because it was more in the middle of the strip and we were able to walk both ways and my feet weren't too tired.

We stayed at the MGM and loved it. There are so many great places to eat there that you don't have to leave if you don't want to. It's also connected to Excaliber and NY,NY by walkway. This was nice because those places offer cheaper dining options for lunch. The pool areas at MGM were never too crowded, which was nice.

I agree. They also have a station for the monorail if you are worried because of the location on the strip.

Depends on what you want.
For our honeymoon, we stayed in the Venetian and loved it. We didn't have a car and it was centrally located on the strip.
When we went back three years later we stayed at The Hotel at Mandalay Bay. All suites, really classy, nice room. It's at one end of the strip, so you need a car.
This year, we went with in-laws and my DS who was 10 months, so we stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club behind the Flamingo. We need the suite with a kitchen and space for DS. It was perfect, had a small pool, not busy, and was centrally located on the strip.

stayed at Paris, Excalibur, and Mirage.
would not recommend Excalibur at all.
would recommend Paris first then Mirage.

I love Mandalay Bay but its a pain because it's far. I also loved Paris because of the location. If you can swing it, the Bellagio. The Palazzo also looks really nice and has a good location. I've stayed in NY, NY, Monte Carlo too - they were okay. Not too bad but again, more towards the end of the strip.
i did stay in the HIlton for work once - and i DO NOT recommend!
