For those whose water leaked not broke before labor...
I figured posting on this forum would get me more answers. Please help if you can.
My mucus plug came out yesterday morning, I haven't really felt any bad contractions during the day just some more heaviness and here and there tightness.
During the night right before I would get up to go to the bathroom to urinate I would feel a trickle. I felt it while I was laying down. I felt this at 1am, 5am and 8:30am. I've changed my underwear all three times because I hate that wet feeling.
Now I can't tell if it's my water leaking, or that urination leaking, or discharge because throught the times I peed I did notice some more pieces (tiny) of the mucus plug (I guess) coming out.
Should a water leaking be more significant then I described? Should it be to the point where it trickles down my leg or something? I really don't know
Edit to say: sorry for all the typos, this is literally the first thing I'm doing this morning.

That's what mine felt like when I leaked, then at the hospital it broke while I was waiting to be admitted. I'd call the doctor, they'll probably tell you to go to the hospital, especially if it continues. Better safe than sorry.

I had a slow leak. I wasn't sure if it was my water or not so I went to my doctor and she did a test and confirmed that it was amniotic fluid. I would call your doctor. Good Luck

Re: For those whose water leaked not broke before labor...
This is pretty much what happened to me. I called the Dr. I was so honest with them. I said something like "I THINK my water broke...I've never done this before..." The on call Dr. laughed and went to get my charts.. They told me to come in and get checked. I was strep B positive so they wanted me in as soon as I could to get checked out. Sure enough, it was my water. I had no contractions!
Good Luck To You!!!!

I would def call the Dr. Not everyone has the "gush" of water breaking, and I did not feel my contractions until right before I delivered.
Good Luck

Re: For those whose water leaked not broke before labor...
Sounds like what happened to me! What I said to my doc at 12:45 a.m. "I think my water broke but I really don't know!" If the "leak" is out of your control, chances are it's your water and not urine (considering you lost your mucus plug already).
Good luck!! Whatever the case, your baby is coming REAL soon!!
ETA: Definitely call your doctor. Mine had me go to the hospital right away since once your water breaks the baby is more susceptible to infection since the barrier is now opened!

it could most def be water breaking... when the doctor examined me in the hospital, she told me to laugh... if fluid comes out it is your water, maybe try that lol good luck

Re: For those whose water leaked not broke before labor...
Well, considering I had to wear a pad my ENTIRE pregnancy, I'd say if you're not having labor pains, then you're OK.
I do think you should call your doctor and tell him/her what's happening, they may want to check your fluids. This might just have you go into the office.

thats what mine was like. A tiny bit would come out at a time.
I always felt like I had to pee too and it would trickle out before I had to go.

Not sure if you went to the hospital yet, but that was what happened to me. I was having contractions but I just did not feel them until transition (I needed a c-section) and had it during transition - when I was finally feeling the contractions. The only reason I was already at the hospital was that I felt a slow trickle just like you described.
