where were you when your water broke?
Were you at home, at work, out and about, or did they break your water at the hospital? We were talking about this on the preggo board and I would just like to get an idea of where it "may" happen.

With my first, sleeping on the couch in the living room. It was 6:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning.
With my second, my doctor broke it for me when I was 9 cm dilated.

For Joseph, I had just gotten up for my nightly 3am pee.
For Maddie - she was born in the caul. (amniotic sac in tact)

i had just got back in to bed from going to the bathroom at about 3 in the morning, 5 minutes later, I felt a big kick and the rest is history...

My water didn't break on its own. My Dr. broke it in the hospital. From what I read when I was pregnant, it said this is the case for most (I think something like 75%??) pregnancies.

Same here. I was just worried about "wetting" the brand new bed. I didn't even think about it happening anywhere else.

I walked from the bed to the toilet in the morning and it broke in the toilet. I was practicing my kegels the whole pregnancy...

At work, I shouted at a patient and thought, crud, I piddled, finished up with the patient went to the bathroom and thought it looked very un-piddle like, asked the two receptionists who have 5 kids between them and had my first the next morning. With my son, they ruptered me at the hospital, I preferred the first.

I was asleep in bed. I had gone to bed about 3 hours earlier, after working my last scheduled day before taking off for maternity!!

I was on the couch @ 2 in the morning - we had just gotten back from the hospital and Taco Bell!!
I was at the hospital earlier for labor pains & sent home & then "POP" and tinkeling! I thought the baby moved and hit his head on a bone! I was afraid to move- them I thought I peed my pants!! It was a slow tinkle all the way back to the hospital too!

They did it in the hospital around 2-3 cm to "get things moving." It didn't work--I stayed at 3 cm, complications ensued and I had c/s.

I was in bed, about to fall asleep. I thought it was just my mucus plug, so I ended up walking around for three days with broken water.
