For those with smoke detectors as part of their burglary system...
I know you need a permit but for those in Nassau county - do you get yours inspected annually by someone?
Our alarm company just sent us something saying our smoke detectors need to be professionally inspected and recorded annually (it hasn't even been 7 months yet either) or we could be fined $1000 or jail time. And that it costs like $250 to record it - which they will wave if you join their VIP program
We have a permit filed for the smoke detectors which is good for 3 years. We don't want to do this if it is just a ploy by our alarm company to get money out of us but if we are supposed to do it then we guess we should have it done when it is time.
