Forced Air Heat - Driving me nuts!
We have forced air heat in our house. I think it is causing me major issues. I can't breathe at night (I am also pregnant so it is just making it worse), and my skin is REALLY dry.
I stayed at my in-laws for the last 4 days, and I noticed such an improvement in my sleeping and skin.
I think I can install a whole house humidifier to work in conjunction with my heat - has anyone done this? Does it help? And most importantly, how much does it cost?
Thanks!

Have you thought about converting to radiated heat? I grew up in a house with forced air heat and hated it. When we looked at houses we purposely shied away from FAH.

This is why we are installing a Hydronic system for our new forced hot air heater. It doesn't dry out the air like traditional fha heaters.
I would think you could add a whole house humidifier, but not sure what's involved.

You can definitely have a humidifier attached to your forced air system. We just had a forced air cooling/heating system installed in a new house. However, I'm not sure of the cost just for the humidifier.

We have forced air and we have the whole house humidifier attached to the furnace. I think it does help (I used to get sore throats and now I don't).
Not sure about the cost because we replaced the entire furnace too.
If you're looking for an HVAC guy I have a good one...
Also, in my DDs room I put a small humidifier as well, just in case...
You may also need to have your ducts cleaned - that can cause a lot of different illnesses...
