My SIL used Avent bottles for formula. I have Avent, VentAires and Drop Ins, one box of each because people I know liked each one of this with their kids and gave them to me.

I use Playtex drop ins. To me they are the easiest to clean.

Re: Formula Bottles - Which are best?

I just got the Born Free bottles. They are Bisphenol-A Free. I haven't used them yet, but from the research I've done they look like they could be great. I like how they designed the nipple-- supposedly prevents/reduces colic and middle ear infections...we'll see...

The website is newbornfree.com

If anyone has used them, I would love feedback.....

Playtex Bottles with Drop Ins...cleaning is a snap...you only have to sterilze the rings and nipples..easier for baby to hold when the time comes...and you dont need so many bottles.

Re: Formula Bottles - Which are best?

The advice I had gotten was to register for two brands of starter kits.... I guess each baby is different in terms of the bottles/nipples they prefer...

I registered for the Avent and the Playtex VentAire's....

Ive heard Dr. Browns are a favorite as well... but, VERY difficult to clean....

Good Luck!

That was the advice I got too, which is why I have three (my two best friends and my mom bought me their favorites!)

A few BTDT moms told me to get Dr. Browns but they are hard to clean.

I love Avent bottles. DD was BF but when the time came for juice etc we used Avent. My friends baby was having gas issues and I bought the Avent bottles and it helped.

I used Avent and Ventaire interchangable with my son and they both worked well. I plan to do the same with the next.

I registered for small packs of both and bought more once I saw that he took to them fine. I registered for the Ventaire drop in's too but returned them since he liked the others and didn't need to try a third!

Re: Formula Bottles - Which are best?

I started Hayley on Playtex drop ins but she was very gassy so I switched her to Dr Browns. They aren't hard to clean just a pain in the butt because there are the 2 pieces, the bottle and the nipple. After 1 year of hand washing them I finally put them in the dish washer.

I agree. I loved the Johnson's Healthflow when I had DD, but those aren't sold anymore. I am using the vent aire as well b/c it's closest to them. In the end, you have to find something YOU like and/or that works for your baby. I might find my baby HATES these and end up using something different. Just like formulas...don't just use one BECAUSE the pediatritian says to, you might find anohter one that your baby likes better. DD's dr. insisted I use similac, ALL varieties gave her terrible gas so I just lied at the visits and used Good Start...she never had a problem!

Re: Formula Bottles - Which are best?

I registered for VentAire and Avent and wound up returning both b/c Taylor was getting such bad hiccups so I bought the Dr Browns bottles and they are great. I guess I am just used to cleaning them, its not too bad

I started out with Playtex DropIns and they kept breaking and leaking so I moved on to Dr. Browns and loved them. I cleaned them in the dishwasher so the parts didn't bother me. Great bottles!

We used Dr. Brown's and had no problems. If you have a dishwasher they are not so bad to clean. They have many parts.
