Fort Lauderdale

We are going there in a few months and neither of us have been there.

It's just me and DH. What should we do?

My parents have a condo in Pompano Beach which is right near Ft.Lauderdale.

Las Olas Blvd has great restaurants and nightlife as well. Riverwalk is cool too.

There is a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino down there that is fun.

You are 40 min from Miami, worth a drive and a stroll on Lincoln Rd.

Lauderdale on the Sea is a fun area in Pompano Beach.

My inlaws have a vacation house in Lauderdale by the Sea, right off A1A on the intercoastal. We love renting a boat for the afternoon to go up and down the intercoastal. Los Olas Blvd. as mentioned above. Plenty of things to find on Commercial Blvd. too. We usually spend time on the beach and go out to eat at night. I know there are night fishing excursions, day golfing, etc.

First of all, great news- there's a waffle house nearby!! Be sure to include that in your trip.

If you like to shop- Sawgrass is the outlet mall and is huge. They also have a Rainforest Cafe there (which I used to love but there arent anymore around here). ALso if you like shopping find a Ross Dress for Less. They dont have them here in NY and I LOVE Them!!

There's a bunch of casinos in the area. I like Hardrock the best. If you go on the weekends they have a water show at night (I think it starts at 9??) its really cool.

I second sawgrass! If youre an ice cream fan there is an ice cream parlor called Jaxson's in Dania that we always go to when we are in florida. They have the HUGEST sundaes (and the food is good too). We also go to City Place in West Palm, there is an imax there, a comedy club, shopping and a bunch of different restaurants and another great ice cream place called sloans (if you cant tell I usually come back from florida with my pants a little tighter than when i went down)
