Re: Freddy is coming home today
I hope you guys are right. I'm not even there and I feel the tension. I can only imagine how bad it is for mom and dad.
this was supposed to be the happy part.
I think maybe on Sunday I will invite him here. Getting out might make him feel better.
maybe I'll even invite the cousins..get him in a happy mood.
Mom and dad have to also keep their bickering to a minimum.

I could certainly understand him not being happy, a grown man having to live with and be cared for by his parents. He's prob missing the independence he had before this all started.
Hopefully he'll settle in soon enough and everything will get better for all involved.

Susan I am so sorry for you and your family! I know everyone was thinking that this was going to be a happy reunion. Maybe in the end if it doesnt work out as planned...he can possibly go into either an assisted living or a private pay where someone could come into his own apt. I hope things get better within the next few weeks. The weather being bad isnt helping either. I am sure once he gets out, goes up to the clubhouse and goes around the premisis there will be less tension. Lastly, maybe they can set him up with a program. I have some referrals if you need them. At least with some time and space he can regain some type of life like he lead before.

assisted living would mean private pay and medicaid and he's not on medicaid. We would have to apply now. Mom and dad think he was released too soon at this point. I'm hoping things will be better. He is going to have a host of therapists come in to see him so I hope that helps him get into a routine.
Dad calls every hr to give me an update. He went to bed so early that he didn't get his meds.

Why didnt they get him medicaid in the hospital? Regardless...they should set him up soon so he can get all the necessary things he needs. You could probably get someone in-home as well. Sounds like today is pretty hard on you. Go treat yourself good. You've done everything you can the last few months. Dont take today/tonite so hard. Give him a few days to recooperate and figure out what he needs.

Re: Freddy is coming home today
he didn't need medicaid since his insurance kept paying. he also has an income that's too high but he could qualify for some programs.
Hopefully tomorrow the nurse will help out.
he's so depressed. Maybe this is normal? Thanks for your help.

Re: Freddy is coming home today
peaceful last night. Dad seems very depressed. Mom not so much. this is hard on everyone and not what we expected.
I will see them tonight and check it out. I will have a talk with my brother and my parents separately. We have to keep communicating.
I also have to let the professionals do their thing. The visiting nurse said there may be alteratives.

Re: Freddy is coming home today
well things are a bit better but Fred is clearly depressed. He needs some help with it. The visiting nurse is recommending counseling for the whole familya and a trip to the neurologist. he sees his regular doc on Monday.
there are a host of things going on but mostly he has no interest in things he once loved and is obsessing about one thing in particular that he cannot have yet.
Mom and dad seem better.
the next few days should tell better. the nurse said this could last one to two weeks before he settles in. She's seen it before.
We are trying to get some male therapists to help him since he apparently has a woman issue. He always has...although not with mom and me.
