Freelance writer?

Anyone know anything about how to do this? I've recently had a bunch of articles published on an online mommy magazine, but would love to expand.

There are lots of good blogs out there- Make a Living Writing is one of the most widely read blogs. The author also has a membership site, the Freelance Writer's Den, which is $25 a month. I belong and it's worth the money for all the resources available- online seminars and a chat forum with a lot of helpful people.

You also have to decide what your niche is- do you want to write articles and blog posts? Or do business-related writing for parenting products/sites, or a combination? Making that determination will help you identify places to pitch.

You will also need a writer's web site and a really good LinkedIn profile. A lot of people I know from the Den are getting lots of leads from LinkedIn, and some of them are at the point where the editors are finding them instead of the other way around.
